Bout freaking time!

Pau Gasol's return after tearing his plantar fascia has not been what Los Angeles Lakers fans had hoped for, but it's been everything that they feared.
Instead of easing the big man back into the lineup, Coach Mike D'Antoni started him in the last two games, which the Lakers lost, and he was very disappointing.
He played 20 minutes against Washington and 23 against Golden State, and scored 11 points combined. Thankfully he grabbed 8 rebounds in both, which is his average for the season.
However, it seems like D'Antoni is ready to relegate Gasol back to the bench. Ric Bucher tweeted out:
Source: Don't be surprised if Pau Gasol is coming off the bench at Minnesota on Wednesday after the Lakers went 0-2 upon his return.
— Ric Bucher (@RicBucher) March 26, 2013

Is it okay to be pleasantly surprised?
This should help the Lakers get off to a more explosive start since it's pretty obvious that Gasol's athleticism is still lacking.

Happy to see this but...with the news of Metta's injury D'antoni may have to go back on this yet again.

Either that or starting Jamison whom is also in a slump and a defensive liability in Gasol's place..

All this on the eve of the Wolves getting, Kirilenko, Budinger and other injured players(except Love) back...

Bad mojo... Next game is vital and has a huge chance of being a disaster.

Gonna have to hope for the best.

But I'm glad Gasol is back on the bench, but ill be upset that Metta's injury may mean he'll have to go back on it and start him anyway -_-

I hope this is true. Doesn't matter if Metta is playing or not. Pau should not be starting. Go with either Clark and Jamison at SF/PF respectively or Meeks at SG, Kobe at SF and Clark/Jamison at PF. JUST [expletive]ING DO IT D'ANTONI STOP WASTING PIVOTAL GAMES.

Gotta love Bucher, his source says "don't be surprised"...

Woah. Might as well had said "Source says there is a chance D'Antoni could bring Pau off the bench but there is also a chance he could stay in the starting lineup."

Lol, any of Bucher's comments, posts, or statements having any relation or connection the the Lakers is always completely false.

So don't be surprised if the Lakers trade Gasol tomorrow either...

As West Coast mentioned, this is just speculation on Bucher's part. That being said, it's the right move imo.

Like I said, that may be the thought process but eith Metta's injury we're almost forced to play Gasol, or Jamison at the 4 and neither bring to it what Metta did while he played there.

Sad really. So I wouldn't be surprised if Gasol has to play 4 tomorrow but T'wolvs are getting everyone back but Love... With Gasol lolligaging out there we could get blown out early and it be too much of a deficit to overcome despite a late run..pretty much like every other game Gasol starts in with Dwight.

Let's not forget even when Gasol was playing out his mind as the starting center we still barely beat Detroit AND minni afyer building gigantic leads. His lack of D will always catch up with us at some point, but when he can't do anything offensive it digs us a hole.

Pau is trash, he won't make any difference as a starter or as a bench warmer.

if you can't see pau sucks balls then idk what to tell you. If Pau was playing like we were first accustomed too seeing, we be at least in the 5th seed. Pau can make that big of a difference.

In combines,(NFL) they measure all athletic parameters but also have questions which may enlighten as to ones "heart" or willingness to dive for balls etc. If they measured Gasol it wouldn't register he doesn't have the internal drive to win, remember the Celtic series where he was lost, and we got kilt. Correct spelling btw, he rebounded only slightly for the next two championships but in limited ways, he isn't trying to fit but do what spoiled children do make empty threats, and he gets to start but does little or nothing. Next, it will be hard for the team to get going without some small momentum, its been snakebite since day one.

trade is the only way out next off season but we need youth, get some picks and lighten up this ancient veteran squad.
