Then I really, really knew him when we went to High School.
As for the rest of the players, I knew of them long before they joined this squad. The only one that I knew very little of was DJ.

-Gasol - knew about him after he was drafted, he was really good so i would keep tabs on him, had him on my fantasy team 2 seasons when he was in memphis
-Mbenga - kinda knew about him on dallas but thought he was a scrub
-Mihm - thought he was an okay center when he was on boston
-Odom - liked him since he was a clip, him, dmiles, and QR, made me kinda like the clippers even thought they werent any good, i just liked the way they played together
-Powell - didnt really know about him either, just kinda knew about him when he was on dallas
-Radmanovic - knew him since he was a rookie on the sonics, he was their 3rd best player and he killed us quite a few times, and i remember him when he had that flip dunk when he landed on his head

Yea yea I know you're famous and cool with NBA nigs hahaI knew about Farmar when he was in middle school.
Then I really, really knew him when we went to High School.
As for the rest of the players, I knew of them long before they joined this squad. The only one that I knew very little of was DJ.
I meant dudes who came from other teams in the NBA, how much did people know about them. Like if you knew about Ariza from the Knicks or Radman from the Sonics. I wonder sometimes if some people have even heard of a guy before he got signed/traded to LA.

Mbenga: Knew very little about him. I thought he was a lumbering hulk. Turns out that's not quite right.
Ariza: I knew about him and thought he was VERY overrated. I guess it was just injuries or the atmosphere. I'm happy to be wrong.
Vlad: Never been a big fan of him, but always thought he was a decent shooting big.

Gasol: Who didn’t know him before he joined the Lake-Show? Always knew he had a great inside game, but lacked that aggression and determination. I labeled him soft a couple times before he joined.
Mbenga: Only because of the tacos incident, haha.
Mihm: Didn’t know him at all prios to joining the Lakers..
Odom: I lived in Miami the season Wade and Odom led them to the playoffs, so I def. knew about him. That 04 Miami team was so sick haha.
Powell: Barely know anything about his game now except he’s a good rebounder.
Radmanovic: He blossomed in the playoffs with Seattle, and was always known for his great three point shot, so yes, I knew him too.

Mihm- Watched him play for Texas his junior season.
Powell- Saw him play at NC State.

Kobe Bryant: my favorite player of all time, know too much about him.. still remember the OG eddie jones, nick van exel, elden campbell, shaq, kobe, del harris, etc days.. dont' really remember his airballs at utah game early in his career in the playoffs, would rather forget it i guess.. but man. so many memories with this guy.. we are blessed to have him and so fortunate to have been able to see him for so long here.. words are not enough.
Andrew Bynum: didn't know too much about him like most when he was first drafted by us.. so like most outta' curiosity.. did all the research i could and was thrilled.. first few years were totally frustrating.. but obviously little by little.. every now and then. you'd see some glimpses of what could be.. and improvement.. especially when i found out more and more kareem would be taking him under his wing.. and listening to his interviews and the way he handled himself.. i then knew we had something special..
Jordan Farmar: followed him since his ucla days.. knew about him being a local boy and going to taft high & all that.. but i only saw actual footage of that mostly on youtube.. always loved that he's hometown boy all the way, that's just awesome.. must be a dream for him.. was thrilled seeing him debut in the summer pro league in long beach.. loved his explosion and athleticism..
Derek Fisher: still remember him as a rookie along with the kobester.. will never forget that one playoff run where we were absolutely dominant and only lost one game.. the guy was just lights out from 3 almost every game, especially in the spurs series.. was upset when he moved away to golden. st. .. hated him as the opposition but still always had that natural respect for him cuz he was a laker and did so much for us at the same time.. hated him in utah even more cuz i wanted golden st. to win that series.. but sympathized totally with his off the court situation.. LOVED it, was THRILLED when we got him back..
Pau Gasol: knew about him when he was drafted.. still remember briefly his interview on draft day.. hardly knew any english back then.. but has improved dramatically since then.. almost probably speaks it better now than some americans.. remember him being the franchise player for a long time there in memphis.. usually having good games against us in my mind.. used to throw it down and be a bit more athletic back in those days.. perhaps he's lost some of that and become even more finesse.. or it's just not necessary, too risky for injury.. who knows.. but either way, he's adjusted.. and he's doing fantastic for us.. always love to follow his olympic play as well and the passion he plays with for his country..
Didier Ilunga-Mbenga: remember his days with the mavericks and goldent st. warriors a bit.. mostly just a late late backup player.. learned a lot more about him when he came here of course.. love his personality.. seems like a great person..
Chris Mihm: knew where he balled in college, but don't remember seeing him much there.. remember his boston days a bit along with jumaine jones.. and then here..
Lamar Odom: Remember watching him play alongside Cuttino Mobley back in his college days at Rhode Island. Remember the clippers drafting him, him balling with Darius Miles, Quentin Richardson, Corey Maggette, the whole group for a while before they broke apart, then his stint with the Miami Heat, and then here of course..
Josh Powell: Mostly barely found about him in his golden st. days, then with the clippers, then here.. don't remember his early dallas and indiana days..
Vladimir Radmanovic: saw this guy as a rookie in the summer pro league in long beach, old school ish, should've never moved to vegas, bastards.. now they don't even fill it up with true fans the way they used to over here.. oh well, 3 ball machine with seattle, then had brief success with the clips for the short time he was there, then here of course..
Sasha Vujacic: still remember the day we drafted this dude, happy as heck to be a laker wearing that hat with a huge smile.. remember how much the majority of us always would call for his head and give him something like the coby karl treatment.. then suddenly he shocked us all dramatically and he finally started making shots NOT in practice, but IN the game.. and the rest was history from there.. MAQUINA!!
Luke Walton: remember watching him ball it up at arizona.. great player there.. along with richard jefferson.. went far with lute olson in the march madness tournament.. was thrilled when we drafted him.. great passer first few years.. mostly all he did.. then they started figuring him out.. but then he had that one great great season.. that earned him a false contract.. hasn't been the same exactly since.. but is decent..
Sun Yue: when we drafted him, i studied all i could about the guy.. mostly saw youtube clips haha.. then got to see him more than anything in the olympics.. was impressed with what i saw, especially defensively, hustling back, blocking some shots, the athelticism.. etc.. i just think now that he's a laker, he's thrilled and it's no great legit excuse, but the guy is definitely nervous, you can tell..

I read about Farmar in high school and saw him play a few times.
I knew about everyone else on the team before they became Lakers except for Mbenga.
