Dwight is confident in his jump shot.  Good for him.  Wish I could say the same.  Some interesting stats on his jumpshots.

At some point in the last couple years he was actually doing pretty well on that short bank shot. Unfortunately trying to add that to your game in the middle of the season just doesn't work. He needs a summer to work out with Kobe and see how to expand his game. Work with Hakeem or Kareem on post moves. Be confident that he can hit 75% of the jumpers in practice, and he might be able to do about 50% in game when the opponent sags off him.

I watched Dwight drop like 9 15 footers in a row and at one point like 4 three's in a row at shoot around before a game.

BUT its shoot around. Totally different then in a game. He needs to give that ish up asap and work on his footwork.

If you watch his workout with Hakeem, his jumpshot wasn't awful before his injury. But he's so hard to stop in the post compared to other centers there's no reason he shouldn't just dunk on people all day.

Yr 9 & he finally worried about adding a jumper = beyond dumb. he cant shoot & he is worthless to LA taking jumpers. Get strong again put on some more weight in your legs & get back to dominating in the paint from your post moves.

As good as Howard is in the post, the Lakers coaching staff is encouraging him to extend his range, figuring it will make the All-Star center even more of an offensive threat.

Yup, that sounds like the work of the D'Antoni brothers lol.

But seriously, he does need to expand his offensive game. Adding a little Timmy D jumper, sure, why not

He needs to be working on doing up & unders in the post, keeping the ball high, and developing touch around the basket before he even thinks about stepping away from the basket

ugh

It took LeBron 9 years to work on a post game.

LBJ still took jumpers when his jumper was mediocre from the start of his career & he still rarely does real post moves now; except for when he starts pretending he Kobe with fadeaways; but he unlike D12 (this seasons D12) understands how to score from his power & strength so he dont need post moves to scoe in paint as long as he is physically more gifted than every1 else.

^^same should go for D12 but much like Pau it doesnt matter if its skilled athletic bigs or undersized bigs defending him its easy to take him out of the offense.

Know the amaxing thing?

Dwight is willing to develop a mid range jumper but Gasol isn't willing to double post...

Something is very wrong with this picture..

Lol forget double posting, Gasol won't even post up in the first place with Howard on the bench.

No no no no no. Dwight Howard is one of the most dominant players in the paint. Don't change his game.

My 50-feet jumpshot is better than Howard's 12-feet J.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

His shooting mechanics suck, why even bother with it? There are other areas of his game to work on. He's not going to turn into Hakeem or Ewing from mid-range anytime soon.
