Very confident or delusional. Thin line sometimes.

Kobe is the captain of this team. He never made these kind of statements nor did he conduct this typical behavior on a consistent basis during his 04-05, 05-06, and 06-07 seasons (when the Lakers really sucked). He isn't talking out of his ass when he says we can win the championship.

The Lakers are certainly stacked. We have Dwight friggen Howard, Steve friggen Nash, and two players who would be very very solid players on any other NBA team in Gasol and Artest. We also have Kobe Bryant.

If we can somehow just get it together we can take on ANYONE. But so far we havent.

Kobe knows what kind of team we have and he knows we have more than enough tools to win a championship. We just have to get it together. Easier said then done.

Never seen a player so confident with the odds so against him

It's almost sad...if the rest of the team was as fanatically devoted as Kobe to winning a championship, the team would be unstoppable.

Remember, down 3-0 vs Dallas, kobe was still confident that he would comeback and win that series as well...

I think the vino will have to age at least another year.  While I think the Lakers are almost a lock to get into the playoffs, they really won't rise above an 8 seed, which means San Antonio, who has played very well at home and on the road this year, and has the best coach in the NBA right now.

The Lakers could steal a game, maybe two, but San Antonio is a juggernaut this year.

It was possible.

But the Mavs made threes at such an extreme bull[expletive] FG%

Looking at their 2011 roster, that Mavs team was built to beat the Lakers.

No that team was destined to win the championship. They got possessed right about the 2nd half of game 1 agaisnt the LA LAKERS. From that moment on they were quite unstoppable.

That [expletive] will be on ice as long as we have D'Antoni, MWP, and present-day Pau
