And in those 2 games against Detroit and Minnesota we like last night had huge leads going into halftime and in the second half gave up those leads and scraped by at the end. This is the recipe when Gasol is your line of defense interiorly.

It was as evident back then as it was last night, the difference was we didn't pull it out last night.

How much more is needed? Close calls against detroit and minnesota after huge leads and a loss to the wizards when the entire momentum shift was the 5 mins he was on the floor in the 2nd half...

That and he's shooting 34% from the post and ya'll STILL looking to excuse the guy? I'm done. Maybe he'll have to go 8/5 in the playoffs before ya'll finally listen.

lol you act like pau was the sole reason we loss yesterday. i don't see any posts about metta being an idiot. or kobe playing hero ball that ultimately failed and ruining ball movement in the fourth...

....

also you can't play big 15 ft from the rim.

We all know World Peace is bad.

No point in arguing that one.

And yet MWP has been more efficient at the 4 than Pau has been all year :P

Only because he can't put him at the 4 when Pau starts.

If Gasol swallowed his pride Clark would be 3 and Metta would be 4.

The only reason he starts Metta at the 3 is because he can't start Clark at the 3 unless Metta or Hill is at the 4.

You can't count on Gasol for hustle points or to bang on the inside and get post position or to seal. That's what Metta was best at, and why it worked with him at the 4, defensively as well and it evened out for Clark's inexperience.

With Gasol at the 4 D'antoni literally HAS to start Metta at the 3 otherwise he'd be the 3 or 4 with the bench which would screw up what we already established for Jamison.

Amazing how much of a clusterfreak Gasol creates in the teams roles just from starting..

I agree that he got abused at the 4 spot last night.. Just dub coaching on MDA part.

MWP is what he is... Looking at the stats
http://espn.go.com/n...tta-world-peace
He is avg just about what he's always been averaging.. The difference is, when the team wins, nobody cares... When they lose, all hell breaks loose.

Pretty much. Isn't it amazing how the only guy with severe drop off to his career averages, Gasol is the one guy people keep saying "GIVE HIm A CHANCE!!! Its the coaches fault!! Gasol can still do it!!!"

But Metta is putting up career averages as well as some improvements and everyone screams "amnesty!! He's useless!!! He ain't what he used to be! Garbage!"

And how Metta can play good 3 out of 4 months and people say "inconsistent" but Pau has 2 good games in the entire season and people say "he's still got it!!!! See!?"

Its sort of hilarious to me.

what if dwight plays 4 on offense and plays against the 5 on defense? letting Pau have the post?  could be a stupid idea, but idk

Maybe, I was thinking of having Gasol & Howard alternate at the post, with Gasol still at the 4.

That way both big men are being used effectively, and Gasol's [expletive] ass is finally happy.

D'antoni tried that. All Gasol did was lead double teams to Dwight Howard and then back up to the three point line..

Looking at Gasols stats
http://espn.go.com/n...d/996/pau-gasol

Career Avg 18.4
13.1 this year... Eh.. I want 06-07 Pau that avg 20.8 ppg and double digit rebounds. Yes he's on the decline. He's still a serviceable big though.

Cant teach pau how to be hard nor make strong moves to the cup. He allows midgets to bully him. There is no changing this now. D12 cant make jump shots mid range there is no teaching this to him now in his career. Until d12 stops the foolish fouls la cant afford to just throw it to him as 1st option routinely. He will likely foul out every game if this was game plan.
