I know I may be getting a little ahead of my self, but assuming we make the playoffs (and we will), who would you like to face out of the top 5 teams in the West?

I'm confident we can beat any team to be honest, but my number one choice is the clippers, because it's 7 home games for the lakers, worst case scenario is spurs, they're tough as hell. I actually think we can beat OKC, I just don't think they're as good as last year without the dimension harden gave them.

I actually think Spurs the BEST case scenario.

They play a half court style and the Lakers would be able to keep up and matchup quite well.

The worst possible matchup would be Denver.

Call me crazy, but I also believe the Spurs ; heck the way we have been playing this year though every team will be tough...

Definitely don't wanna play the Nuggets. Confident we can beat the Clippers, maybe Spurs. Possibly OKC if Westbrick is in effect

I think you guys are under rating the spurs. I honestly believe that if it weren't for Okc and mostly harden getting hot during the last 4 games of that series, spurs would have gone on to to win the whole thing, and I can see the winning it this year again. They're so well coached and so deep it's scary.

And the things with Okc is that people don't seem to realize what a huge loss harden is, and I think that's a testament to how much KD has upped his game. Kevin Martin is nice but he's a role player. Okc is so depend on durant and westbrook this year that I don't see them winning the west, in fact I'm predicting they lose as early as 2nd round.

Spurs. They're old and breaking down just like the Lakers. They always flame out every year. They did last year, they will this year. They're not built for the playoffs.

We match up well with the spurs. I wouldn't want to face okc or Denver.

In order: Grizzlies, Clippers, Spurs. But lets get there first.

At first I wanted Spurs but I don't think that is wise at this point. One way or another we'll face Thunder or Spurs but it shouldn't be in the 1st round. I want Grizzlies if possible. Their backcourt is thin and I can live with Conley's occassional breakouts. And we can match them on frontcourt. (They are 19th in FG% with .443, 23rd in 3FG% with .347) Close games are good games for the team to find themselves. 4-2 would be my prediction.

Spurs v Rockets

Thunder v Warriors

Grizzlies v Lakers

Nuggets v Clippers

Spurs v Nuggets

Thunder v Lakers .... anything can happen.

The Spurs and Clippers owe much of their success to their depth, which isn't really important in a 7-game series when you cut your rotation to 8 or 9 guys. Tony Parker is healthy now, and will be working himself into the lineup any day now so that gives him a month before the playoffs begin to get in game shape.

The Clippers are fake. As fake as they come, I'm not really scared of them. They've crushed us this year, but I'd rather play them and their inexperienced stars and coach than Popovich and a proven championship core. Every game is a home game, and no traveling. I'd love to beat the Clippers more than anyone.

I assume people are saying the Spurs because it's more likely, but how can the answer not be the Grizzlies? It's not even close. They're not a hyper athletic team like OKC, Denver, or the Clippers and they're not as good as the Spurs. Seems pretty obvious to me.

San Antonio (just cuz I could go, lol)  but honestly is because we match up well against them and they may be without Parker, or a Parker who will be still be rusty

I'd prefer the Grizz or the Nugs because theyre faulty. Dont believe the records. In a 7 game series vs LA theyd be screwed. But that match up isnt probable because we cant make up the ground. So between the Spurs halfcourt game and the Clips/OKC full court game I'd prefer the Spurs. Not that it wont be tough. But its the best chance for upset.

Should be option of "other - dont care" because really whoeever we face does it matter? Why should it? The next opponent will be just as tough and the next one even tougher and tougher (assuming we advance). We are going to be an 8th seed, champ or bust as always for the LA LAKERS and to win a chip there is no easy road. Either way dont see this team getting past the first round.. Im hopeful but I aint delusional!

Laker fan for life.
