In what should come as no surprise to Lakers fans this year, when the news broke that Both Kobe and Pau were more than likely returning on Friday against the Wizards, it seems all too familiar that another Laker is now dealing with something.

Steve Blake playing perhaps his best basketball as a Laker off the bench and under the tutelage of Steve Nash has been one of the Lakers bright spots since all-star break. The Laker who admitted he "wasn't 100 percent yet" has sure been playing like it. So of course on the eve of news that the full Lakers lineup shall finally be seen on Friday, Blake falls ill.

However his wife Kristen, probably a Laker fan herself dedicated her day towards taking care of her sick husband as well as the couple's sick children.

Blake later went on twitter to relay his gratitudes.

Mike Trudell @LakersReporter
As you can see, Blake sick today. RT @SteveBlake5: Thanks @kristenblake2 for taking care of me & the kids all day while I'm sick! Love you!

Hopefully by Friday Blake will be healthy enough to continue to play at a high level that he has been of late.

But today establishes two things.

1) Blake has an awesome wife.

And 2) that Zeus is still sending lightning bolts up the rears of the jerks that sent her death threats in the off-season.

Keep being awesome Kristen, and get well soon Blake. Or "Stevie" as Steve Nash now calls him.

We can't afford for Blake to lose any effectiveness! Especially in this stretch :P. Get well soon. Friday morning at the earliest!

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

She can cure my ill that's for sure lol. How bugeyes is hittin that is a miracle but all part and parcel of a NBA players life haha. Even the scrub players can pull wifey material lol. Ok sorry Steve I apologize, as youre finally not shooting blanks anymore. You're finally nailing them. Maybe Kirsten gave him some special training in the bedroom that's correlated to the basketball court lol. That's strokes looking alot better this year!!!

It's actually more to do with him being sick and missing practice(because his wife was taking care of him) and hoping he's healthy by Friday's game. But yes kudos to the wife =p

I thought there'd be at least a pic of said wife in this thread. I feel, somewhat robbed.

The least the guy could do is spend a lot of time with Dantoni, in a closed office, while he is sick.  If the whole coaching staff got sick (nothing painful or permanent), could PJ substitute for them?

It's been mentioned before, but once again, there are countless examples of what a great human being Kristen is as well as obviously being pretty. Steve's definitely got him a high quality wife on all levels. He chose well.

BREAKING NEWS:

STEVE BLAKES WIFE TAKES CARE OF HIM.

I think they may have love like other people. Usually celebreties who are married don't do things the way they should be doing it (caring for each other, helping out, kids, etc)
