I don't understand how there's expectations that Kobe comes back within a week (let alone tonight) after a severe ankle sprain. Tony Parker is out a month with a moderate sprain and he's younger than Kobe. I think absolute miracle/best case scenario he comes back against Golden State. First week of April being more realistic.

Honestly, I'm afraid Kobe's going to rush back too soon instead of waiting until he's fully healthy, and he's going to end up being less than 100% the rest of the season. We aren't going to make a deep playoff run unless Kobe's 100%.

On the bright side, if he's back in 3-4 weeks and his ankle fully heals, hopefully his legs with be fresh for the playoffs.

Thankfully our schedule is fairly easy the rest of the month. Let's hope Pau comes back fresh next week and plays like he did for Spain in the Olympics. I think people underestimate the impact a healthy Pau can have for our team - he's definitely the wild card for us this season.

Paul Pierce thinks the "dirty play" talk against Kobe is overblown, thinks Kobe is getting special treatment. "I th

When posted the question by a reporter about Bryant's shot, Pierce appeared to be a bit miffed. "I think it got kind of blown out of proportion. [Dhantay Jones] put his hands up, got into the defender. I mean the fact it's Kobe Bryant, it's an issue. If it was somebody else, we wouldn't even be talking about this today."

Paul Pierce saying its blown out of proportion?

Do we need to go back to his wheelchair incident?

What a joke that guy is. Him talking about blowing things out of proportion. Wasn't he carried off the court and came running right out of the locker room right after? Meanwhile Kobe walks off under his own power with a much more severe injury lol. Pierce makes this too easy.

Celtics are so irrelevant that Paulina has to stir up something for attention.

So much for "worst sprain since 2000", Kobe will play even if a knife is wedged into his chest.

Pierce gets so little hang time when he jumps that he doesn't have to worry about a defender getting into his landing space before he lands.

I'm really over this whole thing. All the arguments keep going for this situation. The only thing I hope is that people understand that it's a dangerous thing to not give a shooter landing space. Everything else can't be concretely proven, so I'll live with anything else even though I thought he did it on purpose.

Tony Parker is a great player! Kobe is... not human!

The injuries he's sustained and played through over the years?

It would not surprise me if he didn't miss any game! Not at all...

RT @LakersReporter: The fact that we're even discussing a very small chance Kobe could play tonight with his ankle looking like it does is ridiculous.

No point in having him work hard and re-aggravate the injury in a game that we still lose by 15. He will probably hurt us more than he helps us if he plays.

Also, Kobe has been pretty ball-dominant when he has been playing with Nash. I would be very interested to see Nash play more of what he's used to (i.e. ball-dominant, ball in hand, etc.). He should be much more effective if he has the ball in hand the whole way through a game. Just let him run the team exactly like he wants to - I have a feeling he sort of knows what he's doing.

How long does it take too replace a few wires and bolts in a robot ankle? If it's not that hard he'll probably be back.

Whether Kobe does or doesn't play, I expect a big game from Dwight. If Kobe plays, he will need to take the load off of him as much as possible. We need to play in the paint to slow down the tempo of the game so Kobe doesn't need to put too much pressure on the ankle.

My projection for Dwight tonight is 27 points and 15 boards.

Kobe worked out on the floor for approximately 15 minutes just now, with Gary Vitti observing. "Looked OK" according to a source
