Even during this streak, the Lakers have rarely looked really good.
Missing the playoffs still isn't out of the question.

I'll be ecstatic if we can even win a freakin round. Let alone the championship.
I just don't ever see an MDA team winning a title. And we are still poor at too many things. Not out of the realm next year if Dwight stays and we get a few new players and hopefully a decent coach.

The first team to win it all with a completely useless coach would definitely be historic.

Would be great, but near impossible. The streak has been against a slew of predominantly bad teams that have been hard to beat. The number that stands out is the Lakers record against top five teams. Winning against bad teams solves some problems, but the fact remains the starters have been asked to play huge minutes and that they are old. This coach is inept and a first round loss is more than likely the result. Even though I don't think the Lakers are going to win it all, I still watch every game...a fan doesn't have to believe the team will win it all to appreciate seeing Kobe, Nash, Dwight, etc. The Hawks blew up the Lakers and their horrid transition defense; what do you think a real time like OKC or the Clippers will do?
