Only 2 assists from our hall-of-fame legend starting point guard Steve Nash. I'm willing to bet Steve Blake even had more, in less time.

Nash does not dominate the ball anymore, he's our shooting/combo gaurd.

He was in foul trouble.

I would rather have Nash shoot the ball (50%) then having him pass to Ron Artest (-230%) for a brick.

Kobe is our primary ball handler now.

^ I agree with your reasoning, however, I still expect more than 2 assists from Nash. Give me at least 5. Blake had 8 off the bench tonight in like 10 or 12 less minutes.

Wasn't worried about this game, because it was obvious Howard was going to come out and try to tear these guys to shreds.  With Afflalo looking to slow down Kobe, it was going to be up to Howard, and I was okay with that.  Howard is a superstar...that's what superstars do.

However, one thing needs to be said: it was disgusting to see the Magic foul Howard so much, and send him to the line for a record 39 free throws.  Why?  Because they have the size (Vucevic) to try and defend him straight up, but chose not to.

Ultimately, it was to try and send a message.  Vaughn had this idea that he could win a game with Howard shooting 40% or so from the line, and that every boo bird in the arena would eventually get to Dwight as he shot (and missed) these frees...but it backfired, and I'm so glad it did.

I don't know what I should be happier about, the win or dwight shooting 64% from the line.

Headlines should be something like, Dwight dominates at free throws.

I hope to see something similar in terms of energy from dwight and take over tomorrow. Winning while Kobe struggled in shooting only is  something we are suppose to do, not the way we won today but the way we won against Denver.

Btw everyone saying stop complaining about the refs I totally understand your logic and agree it's not a good thing to complain about the refs all the time. But tonight, it was justified. The reason we weren't up double digits at half time was because of two bull[expletive] calls that gave the magic 6 points and threw off our momentum. I hate bringing this up in a win but they were absolutely awful tonight and if we had of lost there would be a lot more complaining on here. I mean, remember in the 4th when one of the refs forgot that Artest needed two free throws and not one? That just proves to you right there your head isn't in the game lol. I know every team gets calls for and against them but the ones against us were huge momentum stoppers and could have cost us the game. Hopefully we'll have three different refs for tomorrow's game.

The Magic did this very often in the first game they played against the Lakers this season, and it worked in the 4th unfortunately. Today was very satisfying, as I was very angry at Vaughn's tactics. The Lakers beat the Magic in their own building just as I had hoped. Great analysis.

Were those Shaq's exact numbers from when he played the Magic? That's eerie to see how similar they are. Hopefully we can win multiple championships with Dwight as well.
