I am curious whether or not the Clippers will hang their Pacific Division championship banner in Staples Center?

Maybe if they win the West (which I don't foresee) they can rationalize hanging a banner up there, but I just can't see them doing that.  I think it would be embarrassing, and would be a sign of "settling" and not progress.

Then again, being in the same building/town with the Lakers gives them more adversity than most other teams in the division, so maybe it's something to hang.

I wouldn't.  I think it would be an eyesore.

lmao they would just embarrass themselves even more.

Pac Division banners are cool but nothing to brag about especially in Staples.

Imagine you look around you see all those championship banners that include the Lakers, Kings, and the Sparks then you see a Clipper Division banner lmao! "Nobody got time for that"

I mean... its the only banner they'll ever hang anyways

Unlikely injuries and having not been there before  are factors, more important is what you do once you're there, also Lakers need a 6th seed.

It would be pitiful and almost more insulting next to the championship banners the Lakers have up.

Well, if the Clippers want to win the division this week, they'll have to beat the Lakers at Staples Center on Sunday afternoon on national TV.  And it's as close as Los Angeles has ever gotten (and will get this season) to a Clippers-Lakers playoff matchup. The Lakers are playing for their playoff lives, while the Clippers are battling for HCA in the first round.
While the Clippers probably won't raise a Pacific Div. championship banner in Staples, winning the division and beating the Lakers in the process to do it would be yet another milestone for a team slowly reshaping its identity one win at a time.

I'm still mad the Lakers lost to the C's in the Finals a few yrs ago!

Given how the very idea of the clippers winning the division and hanging up the division banner has been a running joke on clipper fans by laker fans for YEARS!!!! I doubt they would embaress themselves...

But, who knows...

It would be great comedy if it were up there...

It's silly but it's really the only major accomplishment they've had. Personally, I wouldn't want my team to hang up a division title.

I can live with teams hanging Conference banners, but division banners are weak ..
