He's no.2 right now, but LeBron's way ahead of the pack because of the 17 game winning streak, while posting god-like stats at some point

^ Sadly though, even that wouldn't be a guarantee. LeBron would probably still have his argument of having the best record in the league plus the fact that we all know how much most of the media adores him, certainly more than Kobe.

except when he did do it, in the 2007 ECF against one of the greatest defensive teams in NBA history only 2 seasons before. you know. 25 straight points, 48pts 9rbs 7asts

If he didn't have Boobie Gibson, he would have done [expletive].

That team was not as great as the Larry Brown-Ben Wallace Pistons. LeBron was in an incredible zone but go look at the shots Kobe hit one more time.
and yet that team is probably 10 times the defensive team the raptors are. i never took one thing away from kobe's game, but to pretend that no other player could do what kobe did is ridiculous. incredible zone. 25 straight points in the eastern conference championship against a veteran team that had been to 2 finals together.
laker fans worry me sometimes

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

im pretty sure most here are referring to the degree of difficulty of the shots, not the point totalsand yet that team is probably 10 times the defensive team the raptors are. i never took one thing away from kobe's game, but to pretend that no other player could do what kobe did is ridiculous. incredible zone. 25 straight points in the eastern conference championship against a veteran team that had been to 2 finals together.

Sorry but some of you guys are silly thinking that Kobe should get MVP this year over Lebron.
Lebron is playing the best ball of his career and leading his team to best record in the NBA. That is what will matter when time comes. Kobe has had some amazing games, but hes had stinkers...lots of turnovers, bad shooting, and most importantly, lots of losses. Kobe is behind Lebron in the MVP race.
