Not everyone working at ESPN found the testy remarks shared between First Take’s Skip Bayless and Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman amusing. One analysis in particular who spoke out against the segment was Bill Simmons.

 

In three simple but direct tweets, Simmons expresses his distaste for the show while urging viewers not to watch First Take.

I watch the show almost every morning. SAS hair line is a trip. Skips facial expressions are as dumb as his comments. He swings on Tebows balls almost every show.

Simmons is usually an idiot, but I think he's right. Sherman sounds like a child in that interview and Skip taking the bait is just as bad.

First take segment has lots of exaggerations, but i like to watch it SAS is solid..

I view ESPN First Take as a source of entertainment rather than meaningful basketball analysis. But Bill Simmons isn't the right person to be talking. He's a good writer, but his hate and bias is incredibly prevalent and his articles aren't exactly that in depth either, but at least he sometimes acknowledges that.

I like Simmons articles. He isn't an analyst, he isn't an expert, he's a blogger. Why would you expect him to be unbiased? He's a Celtics fan, he hates the Lakers, if you can't handle a little Kobe-hate then I guess you wouldn't enjoy reading him. Love that he called out First Take like that. But they are presenting him as an analyst now. They have tried to remake him from "fan boy" to unbiased analyst. I don't need his tripe muddying the discussion.

I think it's peculiar that he sits on a set with magic, given all the hateful things he used to say about Magics presentation skills.
