So idk how many of you knew but SimCity cam out recently and its basically been the biggest fail in EA history. They decided the game could only be played through the internet yet you still have to pay $60 and now that the game is out there servers aren't able to handle all the people playing. Right now pretty much no one can even play the game. It crashes right away or puts you into a tutorial then crashes or you just stare at the main menu clicking the buttons while nothing happens.

http://www.amazon.co...ords=sim city 5

just read the reviews for the game there. So funny.

Im really glad I didn't pre order this. I loved SimCity but this is pathetic.

so you cant just play a 1 player game like back in the day. cuzz I was thinking about getting the game just for that. or is it a 1 player game but over the internet in a virtual world setting?

2000+ 1 stars on Amazon. Less than 200 combined 2, 3, 4 and 5 stars.

I've never seen such a bad rating on day 1.

I love the sim city series but EA just ruins everything they touch. It's a real shame.

Its the second one. There might be some interactions with other users I think not sure but its all online. So basically one you dont even own the game you just have access for it and two you cant play the game you payed $60 for if there servers are overloaded.

I have no idea what EA was thinking.

Yea their train of thought for this was just abysmal. You have to pay 60 bucks to have access to the game instead of owning it. Seems like robbery to me.

right nowe're dealing with 3 game breaking bugs (which happens rarely) in SWTOR and dealing with a lot of Origin bugs (game disappearing/players being asked to redeem their codes again etc etc) it's a never ending cycle, at one point we were able to fix the code issues in Origin.. then out of nowhere, people had trouble launching Battlefield through Origin.

i feel bad for our customer support. whenever I read their chat transcripts, people sometimes are so rude.

the game is seriously fun...

The worst part is, that the map is so freaking small!!!

It should be called Simtown, or SimVillage...

You will max out your area within an hour, making late game additions very painful, my tiny town of 50,000 people makes so much sewage, and garbage, it is becoming a major problem... And, even though there is open land all around my city, i am trapped by these stupid lines into this tiny box

City size needs to be expanded BADLY

And, the game takes a hardlined socialist athoritiarian approch. Sims are banned from having private healthcare or private schooling... all education and health care are 100% government funded.... ( nice little social endoctorization ) which is stupid... Appartently the population is a bunch of followers uncapible of thinking...

Fun game though!

I wish the city was bigger, and you could have some effect on political policy

(only reason i bring up the socilalist authoritarian brainwashing in the game, is because Maxis made a big deal about the game not being politcal, i guess what they meant buy that, was not having opposing political views...  cause in this game, you are a socialist dictator or a small village, and nothing else!)

if you see our office here, people dropped playing BF3, SWTOR, and started playing the game. It's like meth, people here are clocking in OT's so that they can play. lol

^ that's part of the compensation for the server conundrum we encountered.
