Jameer isn’t saying anything that we already don’t know about Dwight Howard. He acts like a child, a lot of the time, even though he is in a grown man’s body.  That is why he says curious things to the media, because kids say the darndest things.

Nelson was offended that Dwight said he played on a team of “Nobodies” when he was in Orlando. While the team wasn’t made up of Hall of Famers, they had a lot of quality NBA players and to make it seem like he carried a bunch of Smush Parkers to the NBA Finals, simply wasn’t the case.

Here is was Jameer’s response to those comments and why he believes Howard needs to grow up.

“At some point, when are you [Dwight] gonna as a man, when are you going to take ownership and stay out of the media in a professional manner?” Nelson told the Sentinel after Wednesday’s shooatround in Miami.

“I would be less of a man to comment on certain things that people comment on about me and my teammates. We had a great run as a group, as core guys, and he was a part of it (reaching the 2009 Finals) and for him to say things about anybody in a negative manner, that’s up to him.”

J.J. Redick, another former teammate, wasn't pleased, either.

"I'm not surprised by it," Redick told ESPNLosAngeles.com Wednesday evening before his Milwaukee Bucks played the Los Angeles Clippers. "I would be more surprised when Dwight starts taking responsibility. That would be the most negative thing I can say, but that's the truth.

"You can't take all the credit and not accept any of the blame."

In the two days since the interview aired, Nelson told the Orlando Sentinel that he was "disappointed" in Howard's comments while Lewis said Howard's comments were "disrespectful."

"We helped Dwight become the player he was," Lewis, now a member of the Miami Heat, told the Sentinel on Wednesday.

"We made a good run. Hell, look at those (conference and division) banners hanging in the stands. They don't say Dwight Howard on them ..."

They were playoff bound when Dwight got hurt. Now they are one of the worst teams in the league. A common thread, Jameer Nelson.

Have a feeling the Magic will embarrass the Lakers when they visit them.

Commence operation " Hack a Dwight"

No doubt it my mind they'll employ that when they're given the opportunity.

They're gonna want to embarrass him, and will make him shoot 20-30 FTs

Don't get all the backlash Howard has recieved for these comments. What he said is really true. His teammates in Orlando weren't that good individually, but they worked well as a team. Orlando had a very good team, but they were unable to win a championship because they didn't have enough star power.

Comment by Dwight about playing w/ guys no one wanted is being taken a bit out of context. He was speaking about pulling the team together.

Kristine Leahy ‏@KristineLeahy

And in a part we didn't air, said Orlando will always be special to him, and thanked Magic fans for their support.

Nice to see the comments were taken out of context. The replies from his teammates and what "they" feel about him though weren't heheh.

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

You should reach more often ;)
