Stu: Just think if he could palm the ball.

Are Kobe's fingers so messed up that he can't palm the ball easily anymore or has he never been able to palm the ball?

I'm guessing he can't get the proper grip to do so, he certainly has the hand size

Small hands, I don't think he's ever been able to cleanly palm the ball. Keep away from his man is possible at times (depending on his grip), but he never had the ability to hold it away from the defender with a vice grip like MJ did.

Also, his fingers have been mangled beyond repair. It's amazing that he's still able to shoot so cleanly and handle the ball so well.

That was... I have no words..

Kobe could go down as one of the greatest if not the greatest to play the game. After 17 years to do that.. And on Josh Smith no less of all people.

It's too amazing for words...

Something tells me if Shaq had never left during those 35 ppg Kobe yearsand gracefully eased out of his role as Kobe took over the team Kobe'd been going for his 10th ring and Shaq would have 6 rings instead of 4.

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

You should reach more often ;)

Probably lebron dribbling the ball between his legs while sitting on the bench...

100% agree. What should have been right.

And I watched that dunk over and over. Honestly Dwight gave Kobe 2 very good screens on that play. The 1st to enable the PnR where it closed off Josh Smith for a extra step, creating Kobes driving lane and the 2nd to keep the Hawks center (Pachuilia...sp?) from rotating over to give help.

Kobe at 35 years old doing this on a 27 year old, in his prime, 3 inches taller Josh Smith; who is the games best shot blocking PF is just to ridiculous to describe

Or his iconic, MJ-like, career-defining dunk to close the game out.

ESPN's words, not mine.

So lebrons dunk at the end of the knicks game is one while Kobe's one legged dunk soaring on Josh Smith to put the Lakers up by 1 is 9th.... Geez the favoritism.. and then later on his game winner.

Kobe's 4th quarter performance should have been a highlight!

He deserved 3 highlights. The game winner, the dunk on Smith and the last second fading three to end the third.

Crazy how he was getting by Smith with ease, let alone going up & challenging him. Can't forget him challenging another legit defender in Crash a few games ago when he went up & put the Nets on a poster.

But I really hope he can bring this same type of energy & focus against The Thunder.
