153 points away from passing Wilt
Upcoming games
@ATL
@IND
vs SAC
@PHX
vs WAS
@GS
@MIN
@MIL
I hope he does it at home vs WAS but he'd have to average 31 points a game from now till then.

Even if Kobe gets Kareems record, 2 more rings and another FMVP he still wont be considered GOAT. Top 5 at that point definitely. Most people consider him top 10, not top 5 now.
Only person I see topping Jordan is Lebron if he wins a couple more MVPs, multiple rings & FMVPs (needs at least 4 more of each), and more crazy seasons like this one...and playoff games like game 7 against boston last year.
This makes no sense
7 Rings and the top scorer of all time and he's not the Greatest??? That's crazy

How is it that hard for people to grasp what I am saying?
One or two more rings in the twilight of Kobe's career while he has Dwight and Nash is not going to make him GOAT...lol thats just absurd, and Kobe is my all time favorite player...
I have been watching basketball for a long time, and have watched the Lakers for a long time. I am telling you right now, that most non-Laker fans consider Kobe top 10, some consider him top 5 but most have MJ, Kareem, Russell, Magic, Wilt ahead of him.
What I am saying about Lebron is due to Lebron's play the past year and a half. If he continues this level of play for multiple years to come, that shoots him ahead of Kobe's prime and Kobe on the all time list. If he gets 5 or more rings, another 1 or 2 MVPs, and 5 or more finals MVPs, he and Jordan will be debated for GOAT.
You are attributing more "IFS" to LBJs side of the discussion than Kobe's......who are "most non Laker fans"? is that a group you can join? LOL

Kobe is set to pass Wilt on NBA scoring list. Reminds me how Kobe told me his grandma was asked to prom by Wilt ...
Yes, amazingly Kobe's maternal grandmother Mildred was asked by her high-school classmate Wilt Chamberlain to go to prom ... and shot him down.
Here's the passage about that from my April 2008 column in advance of Kobe winning his only NBA MVP award -- a piece that details how Kobe was so inspired by his maternal grandfather, John Cox, the guy who managed to box Wilt out from the prom.
--
Bryant's maternal grandmother, Mildred, went to West Philadelphia's Overbrook High School with Wilt Chamberlain.
"He asked her to the prom," Bryant said, smiling. "But she shot him down. She was dating my grandpa."
Just imagine … Bryant with Chamberlain blood! Crazy, huh?
"Bizarre," Bryant said. "That's kind of cool, though."

Kobe is 34 points behind Wilt for fourth place all-time in NBA points. Back in his prep days, Kobe broke Wilt's record for most points as a Pennsylvania schoolboy, though you know Kobe's 81 fell short of Wilt's 100 in a single NBA game.
LOL! I can't imagine Kobe being Wilt's grandson.

So Kobe cant be considered in the Jordan tier because he has nash and dwight while LeBron's prime is with a former FMVP .. aha ok.
Prime Kobe had way worse supporting cast than LeBron. Matter of fact, could we see LeBron's performance this year if he had stayed in Clevland ? Nobody knows but its worth saying how much having Bosh and Wade helped LeBron, which i have no problem with.
1 more ring and a FMVP would make him 2nd or 3rd IMO.
These are all speculations, and I wouldn't consider Russell or Wilt in Top 5 to be honest..
If the Heat fail to win a chip within 2 seasons people would believe LeBron was never considered as top 15 or something like that ..
A truthful evaluation is ranking retired players but not a 34 year old player to a 28th to a retired one..
You may have potential but it doesn't mean you'll achieve it.
