Clippers or Spurs and I feel like we have a 50/50 chance if healthy. OKC I feel like we have a slight chance based on close playoff games last season, without as many bench options and I like the way our starters are playing this year. I hope Pau can come back 100% and play his best ball of the season.

Everyone like you forgets how dominate Kobe was in the playoffs besides the NBA finals....

Look, I [expletive]ing love the threepeat Kobe, specially in the western conference series (Blazers in 2000, Kings and Spurs 2001, Kings 2002...) Like I said, he overplayed Shaq in some of those rounds.

But Kobe was not dominate any Finals in that era. He played brilliant defense, great clutch minutes, and was the perfect facilitator to O'Neal. But, come on, FMVP in 2001 and 2002? That's just no realistic.

I feel like we have a HUGE chance if we face SAS in the playoffs, but I don't like our chances at all in a hypothetical first-round matchup against OKC or LAC.

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

Everyone got all excited about that win, and rightfully so.

It pulled us to 1.5 games out of 8th seed with 20 games to go.

That raised our average and helped big time.

We need to make up 1 game, every 10 games played to get the 8th seed.

AND GO BULLS 2NITE!!!

If Chicago beats Utah tonight were 1 game out with 20 to play.

Thats almost a playoff lock [knock on wood, knock knock knock]

With the Bulls win over the Jizz that means were in the drivers seat.

We need to make up a .25 (1/4) game, ever 10 games we play.

We now control our own outcome.

If we can get 2 wins ahead of the 9th seed we will ever have a MAGIC NUMBER for the 8 seed.

A 2 point win over the Raptors at home in OT, Kobe plays 40+ minutes.

Kobe bails us out in NO, 40+ minutes.

Get blown out in OKC.

A one point win at home over an ok Hawks team, Kobe plays almost 40 minutes.

A blow out win over a bad Minny team at home, Kobe plays more moderate minutes.

A blow out loss at Denver, Kobe plays 40 again.

So we go 4-2 over the last 6, with Kobe playing heavy, heavy minutes, barely beat 3 teams, 2 of which we were down big to and Kone bailed us out.  I am not feeling good about this at all.

Yes very close. The 3rd championship without a shadow of a doubt.

Disagree. Kobe was great in the playoffs. Shaq was straight unstoppable in each of the finals. They don't get there without Kobe, but shaq owned those finals.

Saying Kobe was not dominant in 3-peat era is ridiculous, finals or not. Kobe = Shaq in that term. Do you know why Shaq got every FMVP ? Because Phil wanted him to absolutely crush the weaker East teams. We went to him as the game began. It was a smart and easy decision. Add to that Kobe didn't care about FMVP, he only wanted to win otherwise he would have padded his stats.

In Games 3 and 4 @ Nets, Kobe brought the wins in the 4th quarters.

what's the point of playoffs when we're gonna lose in the 1st round to the spurs or thunder? we can barely beat teams in the bottom of the league and our defense is just abysmal

in a 7 game series all cards are on the table. Its not like a 1 game head to head during the regular season where coaches have to worry about the next flight in or out.
7 games comes down to adjustments, match ups, role players, coaching decisions.

Sometimes a simple thing like a player taking a charge or a ref missing a call.

Head to head in a 7 game series LAL are going to be as tough to deal with as anyone in the NBA. And the entire NBA realizes that. The talking heads are just entertainment b.s. They know what the real potential is for this LAL team in the playoffs. All the blow outs, close games, injuries, headlines, rants, complaints and shoulda/coulda/woulda talk in the regular season doesn't mean anything. All that matters who who executes better for the next 336 minutes.

I think the Lakers can be a match up nightmare over a 7 game series for anyone in the WC. Home or Road that doesn't change. And if Pau comes back with 5 or 6 games left to play to integrate into the chemistry Nash/KB/D12 and Meta got cookin, Pau will have fresh legs and that could also be a huge advantage nobody saw coming.

And its gonna help Hill out playing less mins. Dude looks like hes hit a wall.

In a seven game series, the quality of the coaching matters even more than in the regular season. And unfortunately, we are at a disadvantage in that department.

Last year we played OKC close in almost every playoff game.
Our PG combo is better.
Kobe playing better.
Metta is betta.
Dwight is an upgrade in many ways.
Troy Murphy is now Jamison.
McRoberts is Earl Clark.
Goudelock is Meeks.

We just need to get it together.

A few weeks ago

WE THE WORST TEAM OUT FRONT OFFICE SUCKS!!

Some weeks go by

We aren't the worst but we're just a sub 500 team

Some more games go by

Who cares about a winning streak! We still ain't making the playoffs!!

Now

Who cares if we're making the playoffs! We still lose in the first round!

If we make it out of the first round.

Who cares! (Insert team) was overrated! No way we get to the conference finals!

If we win the conference finals.

It doesn't matter! This team ain't beating Miami!

If we beat Miami

I had faith all along!!! Screw the haters.

Its a pattern.

m
D'Antoni gave Phil a two game lead in the playoffs and still won the series.
