Shaq was the clear cut MVP during those titles. Kobe was good but Shaq was just on another level during the finals.
And I watched the finals.
The issue is that it is a Finals MVP and not a Play-offs MVP. Kobe would've won a play-off MVP in 2001 & 2002.

YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER who closes it in crunch time it is what matters not 1st 2nd and 3rdqtrs Shaq like DHoward have no skill at the free throw line which is sad, I wouldn't let that be a strategy make 65% any day, I would challenge either or both to a free throw contest any time any place and I'm from the 50's era Lakers, are you ready for a throw down?
Shaq's stats in 2002 Finals
36 ppg
12 rpg
3 apg
Kobe's stats in 2002 Finals
26 ppg
5 rpg
5 apg
Im sorry. Kobe is one of the all time great but he was never the best player in the 3peat.

Hope we dont get out of the top 8

Looking ahead this would be the ideal way for the standings to turn out for the Lakers.
1) SAS
2) OKC
3) LAC
4) MEM
5) DEN
6) GSW
7) HOU
8) LAL
Homecourt is not attainable so we just have to play the matchups. If we have the 8th seed locked up and San Antonio has the 1st seed locked up I think we should rest our guys
Golden State is 3-1 vs LAC so if they can get rid of that team for us that would be huge.
San Antonio only has 7 road games they got plenty of home games theres no way in hell they're gonna finish in a sluggish manner. I'll be honest I have zero faith in winning a 7 game series vs Clippers, we have shown zero signs we can beat those guys. We've played 3 games, at some point that team has held a 17 point lead vs us and we've led them for a grad total of 2 minutes vs the Clippers in 3 full freakin games. I dont want any part of them until the WCF or something, if we make it that far then we're gond enough to keep up with them.

Spurs
OKC
Grizzlies
Clippers
Nuggets
Lakers
GS
Houston
Either way 2nd round will be a toughmatch up.. Imagine playing against denver in the 2nd round with them having home court advantage? Nasty... Then again lets try get past the first round hahaha which is a stretch within itself.

Portland back on top. Lillard 3, 96-95 Portland, 11.2 left, Pelicans' ball.

Definitely didn't think we were going to make the playoffs.. but now that we are an 8th seed we have to fight even harder to stay in the playoffs since everything is so neck and neck right now

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

We are now 1.5 games up for the 8th seed with 14 games left to play.
That means we now have a Magic Number.
Magic Number is: 13
I'm so excited we have one!
We lost, Utah Lost. Thats as good as a win.
Magic Number is: 12
But Mavs won so they gained a game on us. still -3.5 though.

Best part is we can gain another half a game lead on Utah or a half a game closer to Houston since they both play.
So we'll either be further up on Utah or closer to Houston with the wizards on friday with hopefully our full lineup back.
So things are in our favor but its up to us to take advantage.
