Dunking on people doesn't mean you're a good dunker for the dunk contest. Dunking on people and creating your own dunks are two different things. How many original dunks has Ariza created? How many different dunks can Ariza do?
Trevor Ariza for dunk contest?

For one thing, It's not about being a homer, although it obviously seems that way because of the forum..
All I'm saying is, who the heck knows what exactly he can do?
Besides, after the last few years, how bad can Trevor really be? I mean, just look at Dwight's winning dunk.. It was all show.. kinda like, all starch, no substance.. you feel me?

Nissan has a point.. He hasn't really created his own dunks or anything THAT flashy.
But of course he won't get that chance in the game.. I'm not saying he's like friggin Vince Carter or whatever - that's a very unfair comparison in the first place.. but isn't the dunk contest THE perfect venue for him?
All I'm saying is I think he has a chance.. And who better in LA? I'm speaking strictly as a fan who wants to see something different.. Trevor's explosiveness and that question of whether he's got tricks or not is a real draw, at least from my perspective..
I can see your points, but to be fair, no one really knows what kind of stuff he could pull off in a dunk contest setting, neither you guys nor me..
But, regardless, I appreciate the response..
[2-0 to start, by the way, makes me really happy tonight..]

Don't get me wrong, it would be great to see Ariza in the DC, but no need to give him a chance if better dunkers wanna join, there's a limited amount of space and I wanna see only the best dunks.

Doesn't matter if Ariza can create or not, Howard proved that you don't need to even dunk the ball to get a 10. As long as it LOOKS creative, dress up like a fool and you are a showman, you will get a 10.No. Stop being homers.

even if that superman "dunk" WAS godly.
