Volquez? Guy hasn't been good since 2008. I don't know about that. Why not just use Fife instead?

^^ they obviously don't care too much about the guy lol. I would like to see Fife and and Volquez take some some of Kershaw and Grienke's starts once September comes.

Should be interesting to see how they use Volquez. Read they may use him as a 6th starter to give rest to Kershaw or Greinke.

He hasn't been impressive but my guess is they see a flaw in his delivery that the pitching staff feels they can correct and as a result improve his performance. Did the same thing w/ Marmol.

Saw this as a comment someone posted thought it was funny

With Volquez, Marmol, League, and Wilson, the Dodgers are a lock to win the 2009 World Series.

Great start by Nolasco yesterday. Good to see Hanley and Ethier going long...Schumaker also got an RBI, he always looks like whenever he pinch hits he gets into a double play.

Mattingly was dumb to bench Puig yesterday, he did nothing egregious. Don has let Ethier/Kemp get away with so much ish since 2012 which cost us games and now he tries to flex his muslce. Dumbazz

I think it was the right thing to do.  None of the players objected to it and even Nolasco said that Puig knew what he did.  Punto also was talking with him in the dugout after the benching.

In case people are wondering why he got benched, after his strikeout in his second plate appearance, Puig walked out to right field at the top of the inning, which Ethier yelled at him to run to his spot so they could warm up, but he continued to walk.  Puig finally got to his position and turned around to see the game and Nolasco was ready to throw his first pitch of the inning.  That along with the non-slide at second base in the first inning and the tantrum he threw in the dugout after striking out all contributed to him being pulled.

It's important that these lessons be taught to Puig before the playoffs start.  Puig isn't bigger than the game and he needs to learn that.

Again though, he's just a 22 year old kid thats learning how to be a professional.  It's all part of the maturation process.

Damn Puig. 4-5 with 2 stolen bases. Nasty.

I've got two more regular season games I'll be attending, plus hopefully playoff / World Series...

So this fan definitely has not forgotten...

Dodgers just acquired Michael Young from the Phillies.

Good pick up.  Solid guy to have come off the bench and some starts.

Dodgers win 2-1.  Despite trailing most of the game, I was never worried being down to the Padres.

Good win, hope Greinke keeps things rolling tomorrow

I dont know why we got Michael Young, makes no sense, hes been a worse player than Uribe this year

And Matt Kemp is a mess...at Class A ball rehab games so far 0 for 11, 5 strikeouts. Yikes bro.  Might be a lost year for him, I wonder if the Dodgers think he's too hurt to contribute for the playoffs and thats why they got Young? I understand Young cant play outfield but we can use Hairston/Skip out there and use Young all over the infield

I love the move for Young.  He's actually been slightly better (not by much) than Uribe.  He's another veteran presence, good locker room guy and can play all infield positions.

He's far better than Hariston and Punto offensively as well.  He's also a local boy and grew up a Dodgers fan so he'll be motivated.

I'd rather have him filling in at 3B or 1B when Uribe or Gonzalez need to sit.  He adds quality depth to our roster, which will be crucial in the post-season.
