Glad that Mattingly threw the white flag.

league hasn't gotten an out...

WTF... are you tempting the baseball gods!!!!

smh.

C'mon Hanley.

I've come to expect League to let us down but this one wasn't all on him.

Eh, can't win them all. I'm not even sure they turn two on that play, Hanley needs to make that play though.

Start a new streak next game.

what a bummer

why does mattingly put league out there?we have had over 100 games to try and build his confidence..

HE HAS NONE...

make up a fake injury, and put him on the DL

I mean...

I called the dodgers needed the 6-4-3 DP...

that was a possible 6-4-3 DP ball...

or hanley could have just went home for the force out...

Still mattinglys fault...

For putting league in there... what a JERK!!!!

I hope this isn't the kind of loss that puts a team in a funk...

pitcher everyone doesn't have faith in, goes out and loses it...

Hanley making 2 errors... just a bummer of a game... would rather lose 10-0 then lose like that

Lol don't overreact, it's one loss in a game where the regulars didn't even start.

^^Exacty. Everyone saying Mattingly is just trying to build League's "confidence" (which is impossible, because there is none), is going to be shaking their heads when/if we lose a huge playoff game because of Mattingly's stupid decision. Puig isn't the only one who has some learning to do.

Definitely not happy that our epic run stopped against the Phillies (would have preferred a meaningless team like the Marlins), but at least we still won the series and they're not sniffing the playoffs. Would rather lose on legit hits and not errors, as well, but it is what it is.

I saw Brian Wilson in the bullpen...Why wasn't he out there in the ninth. I honestly would trust him on his first game back in that situation over League.

Dude it's not the loss lol. It's the decision Mattingly keeps making to bring Brandon League into a close game. He's gotten enough opportunities. He always [expletive]s up. The dude cannot pitch under pressure.

Why not go with Withrow? He's a righty...Donnie needs to stop trying to appease League and send him a message-you suck your not playing. You can't always be nice.

To be fair, it wasn't League's fault that Hanley made those errors.

Pirates and Orioles have disappointed me...I expected them to annihilate the Snakes. Pitt can still win 2/3, but they're not the great team that I expected.

Absolutely not. Just like it wasn't his fault that Puig continues to make stupid running and throwing decisions. But let me ask you this- if you were Mattingly, would you CONTINUE to put in a guy who cannot handle any pressure whatsoever and has proved that time and time again? It shouldn't be very difficult for a professional manager to realize that whenever this guy is in the game, bad things happen. Which is exactly what happened yet again today. So, therefore, you simply do not put him in a close game. It's first grade stuff. I don't think you would. You sound much smarter to me, I'm pretty sure you would go with Withrow OR leave in Paco who was doing just fine. Am I correct?

Even the young first grade fans. I would not be this upset if I didn't think this is gonna burn us during a pivotal game in the postseason, and unfortunately I do. Hope to god I'm wrong because I would really love to bring a world series title back to this organization.

Yeah, I would not put League in myself either, but he has came through in some close games during our run. Hopefully, we activate Beach Boy Brian Wilson, and DFA League.
