Solid debut by Greinke.  Kemp and Gonzalez with RBI's

Sucks that Cruz is still on .000

Only 9 left on base tonight, huge improvement.

Sellers is still on .000 too, lol.

So Matthew Kemp finally gets his first hit, beautiful. Batting .071 now, not too shabby.

Crawford cools down dramatically.

Cruz was the one I was worried about before spring training. Despite his solid games last year, he felt too much like a flash in the pan to me.  He's good as a utility guy, not a everyday guy.

Sellers sucks offensively, Mattingly himself even admitted he was in the lineup because of defense and that they'd sacrifice offensive because of it.

Kemp's gotta start somewhere haha. That double was perfect for his confidence, hitting the ball the other way in the gap is just good hitting.  His approach looks good at the plate, just gotta keep working at it, it'll come for him.

Crawford actually didn't cool down.  Despite him going 0-4 tonight with 2 K's, he hit the ball hard in the times he made contact.  I can honestly only remember one AB this season where Crawford made weak contact, he's hitting the ball hard, that's all you can ask for as a player.

Greinke with a solid debut.  Was ahead of batters but fell back behind to many hitters at 3-2.  Mixed his pitches well and hit 95 a few times which is a good sign.  Didn't look like the arm was bothering him.

I've always liked Greinke. Fun to watch & he's got one of the most complete & varied pitching arsenals in the game.

Just glad that his social disorder is under control. I was talking to a couple guys who cover the angels at my work and they said he would constantly be looking over his shoulder because he felt people were always behind him.

^ Interesting, didn't know, but not all that surprised considering there have been hints of him being "different" over the years.

^ No worries, even if they don't, we've got Kershaw to hit another game-winning home run for us if need be.

SICKKKK

https://twitter.com/...415210865311745

Dodgers starting pitchers have 22 strikeouts and one walk in 27.2 innings this season, and a 1.30 ERA

And this without Chad Billingsley who had an ERA of 1.80 after the All star break

I love our pitching rotation, we just need some damn timely hitting, thats how the Giants won their world series titles, their pitching and their bullpen is good (I think ours is better IMO) but their timely hitting, especially with 2 outs is what separates them

Aaron Harang traded for Ramon Hernandez. NICE

http://www.truebluel...dodgers-rockies

The Dodgers have reportedly acquired catcher Ramon Hernandez from the Rockies for Aaron Harang and cash considerations, per Troy Renck of the Denver Post. and Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Renck says the Rockies are only getting salary relief in the deal, which likely means the Dodgers will assume the remainder of his $3.2 million salary this season. Hernandez was beaten out by Yorvit Torrealba for the Rockies' backup catcher job and was designated for assignment on Mar. 29.

Renck said "there could be other parts to this trade," which turned out to be Harang, who was stuck with no role in the Dodgers bullpen.

Harang made 31 starts for the Dodgers in 2012, his first year of at least 30 starts since 2007. He was 10-10 with a 3.61 ERA, with 131 strikeouts and 85 walks in 179⅔ innings. The walks were by far the most Harang has ever issued. Even though he had 10 intentional walks, his 75 unintentional bases on balls were 21 more than he had in any other season.

If we traded both Harang and Fed, then we have an open roster spot....you guys know what that means :shifty:

1 run, sweet!

Cruz & Sellers finally get a hit! Not.

Matthew Kemp 0-4 with 3 strikeouts, got that sweet average at 056 now, nice.

Only 21 left on base today overall, not bad.

Crawford & Kershaw still beasting.

They need to change their approach at the plate, that was the biggest issue I had since the first game of the season.

Players are getting under the ball too much, leading to weak pop ups and easy long fly balls.   I see it in their swing and with their feet. Off balance, lazy swings.

Cruz thinks he's a power hitter. Not happening.  Sellers is a for sure out every time in my mind.

Got the W, that's the positive.  Kershaw just straight domination.

The team is getting on base, that's not the issue.  It's getting players in that's the issue.  I hope to see some small ball from Mattingly soon, the lack of it is pissing me off.  Hit & run, sacrifice bunts, suicide squeezes, double steals, etc. Mattingly needs to help his team out and the players need step it up with runners on base.

I'd be far more worried if guys weren't getting on base.  It's frustrating to see guys LOB but they're right there, just gotta get guys in.

This is where Mattingly comes in.  You have the roster, the coaching staff needs to correct the problems.  The pitching is fine, that's going to be a non-issue as long as everyone stays healthy.

^ You didn't mention McGwire at all specifically though, don't think perhaps he has to make some adjustments as well in what he's telling these guys?

Well when I said coaching staff that included him too.  Mattingly, McGwire, Lopes, and the rest of them need to identify the problem and correct it.

I'm kinda surprised at their approach because that's not McGwire's philosophy that the players are using.  I have a couple buddies who have worked with McGwire back in St. Louis when they went to spring training and he is huge on balance and getting on top of the ball.

Kemp 1 for 16 now, 3 K's today.  Offense doing jack vs the friggin Pittsburg pirates

Our pitchers, starters and relievers are playing perfect ball right now

Damn, that's messed up. No Cruz in the lineup today, but yet Sellers stays on.

Kemp with a hit already in his first at bat, nice double. Getting that average up at 105 now.

Gonzo drives in 2 with a hit in first at bat with the average now at a lovely 353.

Thru first 6 games of season -- #Dodgers starting pitchers have allowed 6 ER in 41 IP. That's a 1.32 ERA.
