i really hope we sign Emilio Bonifacio he's about to become a free agent....he's had as many as 40 SB in a season and he would be decent insurance in case Guerro struggles

"FEB. 10: The Royals have requested unconditional release waivers on Bonifacio, tweets Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish. Any team can now claim Bonifacio if they are willing to take on the entirety of his $3.5MM salary. Those claims will be determined according to last year's league-wide standings and are not subject to the in-season rule that would give AL teams the first shot at him (2013 league-wide standings are also used for the first month of the regular season, as opposed to league-specific priority). Should he clear waivers, he will be a free agent and can then sign with a team of his choosing." from mlbtraderumors.com

I was reading that it's not so much struggling as it is adjusting to a new position.

I think Guerrero will be fine as Mattingly said they are happy with him so far but I would definitely keep an eye out on Dee Gordon. He put on about 15-20 pounds of muscle and looks somewhat close to a normal athlete now lol.

I think last year he weighed 145 and they said he's coming in around 175 this season. Which is still small for a baseball player.

I don't understand why he didn't do this years ago? It's never bad to put on muscle for an athlete at a reasonable amount.

I think it has to do with the thought that more muscle = less speed.  That's Dee Gordon's game is speed.

But I think he has now realized that speed only gets you so far.  He performed well offensively in the minor leagues so there's a good chance that Gordon thought it would translate at the next level which it hasn't.

Other than Billy Hamilton, Gordon is probably the second fastest player in the MLB but if he cannot hit, he's never going to see the field.

I'm just hoping the extra muscle helps his bat speed.  If he can become consistent, that speed in the lineup alongside the big bats could be killer for other teams.

I could watch them work on that field all day.
Dodger stadium is looking great. I need to make a visit. One thing they should change is the batters eye. That looks awful has for years.

Looks like they have a lot of work left to finish. Is it supposed to be done for opening day?

They're almost the same size now. Puig is 6'3 250 right now.

Arizona Radio Host Advocates Beaning Yasiel Puig

Waiting until the regular season just risks lengthier suspensions. Plunking Puig in Australia would make it more difficult to replace those suspended because you're not traveling with your whole minor league system behind you.

Plunking Puig today at Salt River Field declares the Diamondbacks will not back down. Waiting around is like sneaking behind someone's back. Be a man. Take the punishment. Move on. First, however, the Dodgers must pay their debt.
