This is a Salary Dump.
While the Lakers are unlikely to make a major move today, the team is exploring smaller moves, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Wojnarowski tweets that the Lakers are offering Steve Blake, Chris Duhon, Devin Ebanks, and Darius Morris in search of second-round picks.
Given Blake's undesirable contract, which pays him $4MM this year and next, it's unlikely that the Lakers will be able to move him without giving up a pick of their own. I'd also be surprised if L.A. could land a second-rounder for Duhon. Ebanks and Morris could draw some interest though, as both players are young and on minimum-salary contracts.
If the Lakers were to move one or two players for picks, it would give the team the opportunity for a late-season free agent addition with the free roster spot(s). Alternately, it could simply allow the team to reduce its luxury-tax bill a little.

Why not call up the Knicks and see if they'd take Pau for Amaré and Shump?

C'mon Mitch, be a little more ambitious than trying to unload some of the min guys.
Why not call up the Knicks and see if they'd take Pau for Amaré and Shump?
probably because Amare has the worst contract in the league, thoughts?

You're right. Amar'e isn't worth it. That extra year (compared to Pau) is the deal-breaker.
I just think that when Mitch and Co. are going all-in with Howard this summer, we might as well do it right. Trade Pau for a couple of guys who could help us the rest of the way this season and then hope a trip to the playoffs could persuade Howard to stay.
How about this one: Pau for Ariza and Okafor? Peckovic and Derrick Williams? Kirk Hinrich and Boozer?

If they are moving one of the many PGs we have to bring in D-Fish, I'm cool with that.
And Pau? Still praying for a miracle there...and not a medical miracle...something more along the lines of getting rid of him for Brandon Bass, Carl Landry or any REAL bench front court help...

I'm BAAACCCKKKKK!!!

As for DJ Augustin (which is just pure speculation)...not sure about him. He's young and quick and a good passer, mediocre shooter, bad defender. He'd probably be an upgrade though because young and quick is better than old and slow, and its not like any of our pg can play a lick of defense anyway.
Scratch that ^ Don't want him. Keep Blake.

At least, he could have signed some interesting FAs such as Kenyon Martin or Delonte West...

Alex Kennedy
If Jazz decide to buyout Raja Bell, the Lakers will try to sign the veteran guard. Bell is working out in Fort Lauderdale and wants to play.
