I love nights like this where we pull closer to that 8th seed without even playing a game. We just need to make it count tomorrow.

We win tomorrow we almost surely put ourselves out of reach of dallas and Portland and 2 games behind houston.
If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

If Denver loses it helps us if Portland loses they take another step below us just as Dallas did.

I'd rather portland loses. Denver is way out of reach

No way we catch Denver. They are just way too hot right now. My focus is on Houston, Utah, and Golden State. What is nice is that all three are close together, so once we get to that 8th seed, we could possibly rise up to 6th before the end of the season. Getting to 6th would be huge in my opinion, because we will most likely avoid OKC. I like our chances better versus the Clippers or even the Spurs.

we just need everyone in front of us to lose.
Denver could go into a slump for a couple weeks, and we would be right on them if we play hot.
Curry went off for 54 points on 28 shots, 11-13 from 3 point range! he is scary good

If we get into the top 8 I hope we position ourselves to where San Antonio is, rather face them than OKC. Hopefully its the 8th seed...2nd round after that has no superstars from the 4/5 seeds...Memphis vs Denver

agree, I've rather face the spurs than OKC, cause if we face OKC they will remind us how tough the Denver is.
Fast break kills the Lakers veteran legs.

I am thinking first round matchups when I mention where I want Denver to land. Catching them doesn't enter my mind

Thank you Monta Ellis! This wipes away the Denver game, we are in the same position now as we were after the win at Dallas on Sunday. We just have to take care of our homecourt in the next two and then go on the road and get one of the two @OKC or @NOH. Our guys know this. Now we just gotta do it. Get within two games tomorrow and possibly 1 or 1/2 after Sunday!

The ideal situation is that we notch the 7th seed and Oklahoma is 1st and Denver 5th/4th.

Golden state will be very difficult to catch, 16 of their last 21, I believe, are at home. Utah I believe is the team to catch.

Golden State has 16 home and 8 road games (16 of 24 games) at home.. and a 5 game lead. They will be tought to catch.
Houston has a bunch of easy games coming up so the Lakers just need to keep pace with them..
Utah has a hard schedule remaining, but will have the tie breaker over the Lakers, so they really have a 4 game lead over the Lakers right now with that considered.

2 behind now!
We gained a half game on the warriors, rockets and utah. Good for us! That means that I'd either of those 3 lose while we win we still move up on them on either of the 3.
Helps our chances a lot we just have to keep winning.
