I really hate this team. We could be sitting on 2 game lead if we hadn't blown those games against PHX and WAS.

Those losses were Huge..

If only we won the home game we lost to the Jazz...

Arguably the greatest franchise ever

Know what's hilarious? During our winning steak and when I was in the Wizards game thread...

Some were complaining that the Lakers are "boring" when they get into a dominating teams night after night groove and was complaining about it...

I wonder if they are satisfied now.. Lol

^ If by satisfied you mean banging their heads against walls in mere frustration, then yup.

Perhaps they shouldn't have complained that they didn't like watching the Lakers winning because it gets "boring" after a while then :P

So the lakers now need to go 4-1 while jazz 2-2 to make the playoffs ?? Golden state effed us baad ..

but in a deep look, again. winning portland and new orleans while utah lose to oklahoma would realistically makes us the favorable for the playoffs .. as Majesty said...

so then we need to win golden state, spurs and Houston if utah win both minny games and memphis ..

if utah win both games and lose to memphis then we have a margin for giving a game away(Spurs?)

if Utah splits minny and lose to memphis means we can give another game away which i'd say Golden State or Portland..

worst case scenario is utah loses one game while we win the rest of the games .. which i believe is achievable from Utah stand point(losing one game) ...

Hoping for the best and expecting the best !!

So the lakers now need to go 4-1 while jazz 2-2 to make the playoffs ??

Lakers 5-0 = Jazz 3-1
Lakers 4-1 = Jazz 2-2
Lakers 3-2 = Jazz 1-3
Lakers 2-3 = Jazz 0-4

Jazz 2-2 scenario:

Jazz should split their home and away games.

If Jazz wins the Memphis game, it's over for us.

vs OKC  - Lost

vs MIN - Win
@ MIN - Win
@ MEM - Loss

Lakers 4-1 scenario:

We should win all the home games.

vs NOH - Win

@ POR - Lost
vs GSW - Win
vs SAS - Win
vs HOU - Win

There is still hope, but chances are very slim:

Lakers 3-2 Likely Scenario:

vs NOH - Win

@ POR - Lost

Lakers string of losses playing at the Rose Garden goes back to the 1990s.

Phil Jackson used to blame the weather.

vs GSW / vs HOU

We could go 1-1 here.

Rockets is just 1 game behind Warriors battling for the 6th seed.

Both teams don't want to face OKC or the Spurs in the 1st round.

vs SAS - Win

Likely Possible Outcome:

8. Jazz (43-39)
9. Lakers (43-39)

Jazz has the tie breaker.

Look, it comes down to this:

We need to win tonight against the Hornets AND we need to break the b2b-loss-pattern and win tomorrow @Por. At the same time, Utah needs to lose at home to OKC. Then we'll be up 1 game on Utah with 3 games left. This is by no means unrealistic, but if we throw one of them or if Jazz beat OKC we’re in trouble!

After this, we need to win the same more games than the Jazz in the final 3 games. Plain and simple.

Just threw up again.

Jazz’s schedule:

Vs Min

@ Min

@ Mem

LAL schedule:

GSW

SAS

HOU

This could seriously go both ways. I wouldn’t be surprised if we won all 3, nor would I be surprised if we lost all 3. I think it comes down to each opponent’s approach to the game.

When we play GSW, SAS and Houston they could already be locked into the 7th, 2nd and 6th place, respectively, and rest all their guys OR they could all still be battling for a higher seed. Same with Utah’s games.

In a nutshell, we need 4 Ws and we need Utah to only get 2 Ws.

Nicolas Batum and Wesley Matthews are injured, so yeah:

vs NOH - Win

@ POR - Win

Rest all their guys OR they could all still be battling for a higher seed.

Warriors & Houston will play their starters.

The Rockets have an easy schedule and is expected to gain more wins,

so the Warriors will do everything it can to hold on to the 6th seed.

If Spurs holds on to #1, who will they choose? Utah, or Jazz?

The Spurs will play Parker or Manu when they are still 1st seed, come game time.

They will try to eliminate Lakers, so that they can once again sweep Jazz in the 1st round.

OKC will beat Jazz.

The real question is, will Memphis rests their starters when their playoff spot is settled?

If so Jazz will beat Memphis.

They probably will. I'm just saying that at this point in the season, who knows. Houston could have the 6th locked up by the time they play LA, but then again, they might want to eliminate LA from the playoffs anyways, just to increase their chance of landing Dwight.

If Spurs holds on to #1, who will they choose? Utah, or Jazz?

The Spurs will play Parker or Manu when they are still 1st seed, come game time.

They will try to eliminate Lakers, so that they can once again sweep Jazz in the 1st round.

The Spurs are known for resting their starters at this point in the season, and if they're a game or two ahead of OKC, or if they think they are better off giving Duncan and Parker a bit of a rest, they will.

So for Lakers game, Matthews is out, Batum doubtful, Hickson questionable. #Blazers could start 4 rookies w/Aldridge.

^ would love to say the game is in the pocket, but the Lakers surprises us every game ..

But logically if thats the case we should have no trouble to win the game ..
