I fully expect Houston and Utah to lose.

Up to us if we want to regain the ground we lost.

Yeah I got you. Pau needs to be gone after this season. Should have been gone awhile ago.

In other topics, he has said he doesn't think the coach or the roster needs to change. It's ridiculous.

Looks like Utah is going to beat Brooklyn. The Lakers really needed to take advantage of Utah while they were down and gotten a firm grasp on the 8th seed. Utah wasn't going to play the horribly forever.

I fully assume that my stress level will be at an unsafe level over the final 8 games.

This can't can't EVER do anything easily.

Utah plays Denver and OKC. just remember that, but we still play Clippers too so it may cancel each other out

Well then lets beat the Mavericks tuesday. That is a crucial game and is the shaq retirement night.

We CAN go 6-0 at home the rest of the way. If we take care of the ball like we did tonight we will I guarantee it. If we do that we are basically guaranteed to get in so we actually don't really need to win another road game unless we have a slip-up at home. We just need Utah to lose at least one of their games at home against Denver and OKC, but hopefully they lose both, which there is a good chance of them doing so. The reason being is I'd be shocked if they don't lose at least 2 of their last 4 road games.

we are about to really see what this team is made of. Backs to the wall, if this isn't a reality check, then theres nothing that this squad can do ever.

Of the Lakers remaining 8 games, they play 5 Western conference teams that will be in the playoffs.  The Mavs who are directly behind, playing well (for the D League squad they run out nightly) the Blazers in Portland where the Lakers rarely win, and a gimme against the Pelicans.

The Jazz currently tied and owning the tie breaker get Minnesota twice, the Pelicans once, while hosting the Blazers and the Nuggets.  They also host OKC, and travel to Golden State before closing at Memphis.

The Lakers do not even control their own destiny, and their schedule is way more difficult than the Jazz.  I thought they would make the playoffs and then get demolished.  I now think they aren't going to make the playoffs and will more than likely end up below .500.  Nightmare season.

The reason why the Lakers got back into the playoff race in the first place is that Utah had a stretch where they lost 12 of 15. They've won 4 straight since though.

I ultimately think Utah is going to have to fall off again if the Lakers are going to get that final playoff spot. Maybe not to that fashion, but they're playing too well right now.

Jazz actually got an easy schedule rest of the way. Ours is pretty tough. It won't be easy to get one game on them.

I'd say chances for #8: 60-35-5 for Jazz,Lakers and Mavs respectively.
