probably will never happen because apparently it's just destined not to, but i'd love to see this message board if the lakers lost a finals matchup with the Heat. i almost think there'd be suicide watch

Well this just shows how easy it is for us to fall out of the playoff picture if we don't fulfill our part.

The Jazz, Warriors, and Houston won't be helping us forever.

I'm not going to pretend like Utah was supposed to lose this game. This was a gimme for them. They have 18 games left:

@ OKC - L

vs. Memphis - L

vs. NYK - L

@ Houston - L

@ SAS - L

@ Mavs - L

vs. Philly - W

vs. Phoenix - W

@ Portland - L

vs. Brooklyn - W

vs. Portland - W

vs. Denver - L

vs. New Orleans - W

@ GS - L

vs. OKC - L

vs. Minnesota - W

@ Minnesota - L

@ Memphis - L

My guess is they finish 6-12. At least 8 of those are almost guaranteed losses. I feel good about our chances.

If we win tomorrow we'll be back in 8th. This will go on till we win two and the Jazz lose two.

If we go 3-0 on this trip and the Jazz go 0-3 this week then we have a game and a half lead on them.

Superstar factor will show itself in remaining games. We have 2 of'em. Jazz and Warriors have none. Rockets have a pseudo-superstar.

also, if we take care of business tonight and tomorrow and if Houston loses tomorrow we can get to #7 if I stand correctly

we are a game back of them

we win today we're a half game back

then if we beat Hawks tomorrow and they lose we're 7th right?

Heres the thing. The next 3 game are and expect 1-2 record. Hopefully we get one of the wins with either hawks or pacers but its oke to lose both. There expected loses follow to the pace we need. Jazz are expected to lose the next 5. Yes 5. OKC,MEM,NY,HOU,SA. So on march 23 they should be 33-36. At that same time hopefully we will be 37-33 being that after the pacers game we has 3 easy ones with SAC,PHO,and WAS. So by the end of next week we should have a 3.5 game lead on the jazz.

I wasnt even expecting us to get get the 8th seed until the 21 I think so were doing very well right now. Right now is probably the last time Utah will be in the 8th seed this season.

If Houston loses tomorrow and we win, we will be 7th!

And if Golden State loses tomorrow, we'll be a game back of 6th.

Denver next ? lol

I stil have doubts. We are basically living because Kobe bailed us out, but i don't think we played in a position where we can compete for a title, not yet.

If Houston goes 1-2 in it's next 3 and we go 2-1 we have the 7th seed with GSW in our sights and if Utah goes 0-3 then we're ahead of them and have some breathing room. But heck if we go 3.0 we're a half game behind the warriors if they lose one of their next 2 is it?

WTF San Antonio lost to Minnesota today, im convinced they're trying to beat the good playoff teams and still try to tank and get out of facing the Lakers 1st round

No tony Parker for them really hurts, they would have to lose quite a bit to fall out of the top 2 though

Lakers play hawks tomorrow, and the hawks played @ Miami today

So, even though it was a back to back lakers won't be at that much of a disadvantage

Spurs losing is an important factor for us. Like i said before, being 7th or 6th(memphis 3rd) is the best situation for us. Spurs must be 2nd.

Imagine if the playoffs starts where Thunder 1 and clippers play against Denver and Thunder or the winner of clippers or Denver advance to the finals. It means beating Spurs(which is hard but not as hard as Thunder) or Memphis would lead us to the finals.

Its much easier than playing 8th while Thunder 1st and then IF we win the series we have to deal with Denver or clippers(if 4th).
