Let's say Dwight does sign. Then what?? Has he played his best ball in Orlando? Will his back do him in as bad backs have done numerous power leapers?? (Larry Johnson) Will D12 turn around and be the next Alonzo Mourning or Bill Russell? Who knows which way it will go. I know this; It's probably going to be a 150 million dollar question. When Kobe is done, I would rather a team of Rudy Gay, Paul George or Danny Granger, Tyreke Evans and Marcin Gortat or something like that as a core. Beleive it or not, when you have a piece like D12, a roster similar to this is not impossible. Add Hill, Clark and even if Kobe and Pau stay for mid level to 8 mil per year to win a championship, you have to keep your options open. When was the last time the most DOMINANT center in the league was the primary option on a championship team?? Shaq 7 - 10 years ago maybe?? That's right; he had Kobe and Wade. IF it's impossible to make D12 happy then use this Very GOOD player to get a few VERY GOOD players. I know our history says that we are suppose to have the best center, but times change

nobody wants to face the solid reality in what you or I have stated.
I enjoy reading the rebuttles of how Dwight is a "star" and going to help us win. And how it would be crazy to trade a star....lol. But I have yet to see anything from his play or his passion to play that would prove this. Additionally I dont think any of you hoops experts understand what a 1 year deal with no option means. It means he intended to leave before he even signed. Dwight becoming a Laker was a parachute out of Orlando. Nothing more.
We were all hoping that with Nash and Dwights addition wed win 65 games and cruise to the WCF and Dwight would want to stay with the best option to win multi chips and be loved again. But that didnt materialize. In fact the very opposite happened. And were very very far from having any of that come to fruition. Kobe+Nash+Meta+Pau are another year older. We have no draft picks, the highest pay roll in the NBA and over the hill core players nobody wants (excluding KB of course). Yet all the while, this is Kobes team and his offense. All for a 10th-12th seed effort.
Please tell me WTF is his motivation to stay? To play devils advocate hed be dumb as dumb can be to stay. Dwight and the Dinosaurs. lol.
Its not Money either? He will get his max contract and endorsements ANYWHERE he goes. Why I dont know, but thats another convo.
And to all the people above that threw the "your not a true fan" line at me because you couldnt think of any credible reason to refute my points I forgive you.
But when we do rebuild, and get the new versions of Elden, Medvedenko, Van Excels, etc.....Ill be here posting and enjoying my Lakers sub .500 efforts waiting for our next Superstar to come out the draft the way KB8 did. Where will you be?
