We will regret it if we trade Howard now as an injured player.

Stop bypassing the swear filter. I believe I told you originally that the word you like to use was not allowed when you asked me about it. If I didn't, then I'm telling you now.

Knowing Mitch, it is probably actually a Pau Gasol crazy four team trade that gets us rondo instead of Howard. He's putting on his poker face. LOL.

Media is killing Howard this year.

Fans too.

No way I blame our record on him. I mean if anything, had we not traded Bynum , we would have been worse off than Dallas.

At least Bynum was a more legitmate 2nd option, especially in closing out games. (Yeah I know)

As much as I like Rondo and as much as I haven't liked Dwight this year I wouldn't do this deal. We'd be getting shortchanged on Dwight since he hasn't played like he's capable. We either sign him or don't.

Dwight thought that by coming to the Lakers, he was easily in a position to win a championship. He never expected it to be this difficult. He thought it was going to be all fun and games.

I remember 2 or three years ago, didn't we go like on a 14-1 streak after the ASB? Hopefully this team can get there act together and turn it on.

I feel sorry for Howard. Nothing is going right for him.. People don't realize how hard is it to play with an injured back, let alone the media and fans pressure ..

In LA , especially the Lakers have a different environment lifestyle than the Magic ..

He still has to get accustom to the Lakers style of play ..

He needs time and people are not willing to give it to him ..

I'd trade for Rondo, but maybe not for dwight .. Pau and anyone not named kobe is ok for me...

Something like that needs intense motivation. No Phil. Not going to happen.

Please forgive me if this is a dumb question..... but

I know we can offer more $ and an extra year this offseason to dwight.... so if we do a sign-and-trade this offseason, will the team that aquires him pay that contract because we signed him? Or does the cba affect this?

I know, obviously, when teams trade players they take on their contracts, but i wasnt to sure on this.

We won't be able to do any sign-and-trades this summer, being over the luxury tax. New CBA rule.

Take this with a giant grain of salt, as I just met him and do not trust people I don't know well.

I met a guy today at work that claims he is close friends with Dwight and his agent, Dan Fegan. He said that he grew up in the Atlanta area and knew Dwight growing up playing basketball. He said he still talks to Dwight occassionally and Dan every once in a while. He said that he spoke with Dwight about 2 weeks ago and Dwight told him that he is not going to use this team's poor record as a deciding factor this offseason. He also said that Dwight loves Los Angeles, the fans, and the franchise history. He understands that he has been unable to give this team all he is capable of due to his injuries, so he knows that the record would be better if he were 100% healthy. Dwight also told him that him and Kobe haven't yet seen eye to eye because of their different attitudes, but said that it is not threatening to the team. He said that he gets along well for the most part with the rest of the team. Also, this guy told me that Dwight and Deron Williams are on a limited talking basis because of what went down over the offseason, so Dwight may not want to go to Brooklyn anymore. He ultimately thinks that Dwight will re-sign with the Lakers, regardless of record or his relationship with Kobe. He said that Mitch and Jim have told him continuously that they will not trade him and that they will involve him in any free agent signing/trades/coaching decisions/etc., which is something that Dwight was very pleased with.

Again, take this with a grain of salt. This is what he told me today and I am just passing this on. I believe this as much as you do. Unless it comes from Dwight's mouth, everything else is just "sources".

Actually that sounds pretty legit.

Your sources > their sources.

I've always liked Steve Blake.

I agree with you. It is a reach. Like I said, just spreading what I was told, because you never know.

Haha, you can tell Kobe is still mad about that veto if you read his latest tweet ( on my phone now, can't share ).
