(Con't) Kupchak said "I haven't talked to Danny Ainge in weeks. I made the statement a week or 2 ago that we're not going to trade Dwight...

(Con't) Howard and that hasn't changed." Kupchak said at no pt this season has a D12-for-Rondo trade been discussed.

(Con't) Kupchak added that he hasn't talked with anyone else in Celtics organization.

Gotta love reporters who come out and essentially say, "My source says your source is wrong."

I know is that Berger is pretty damn reputable so he wouldn't put this info out there if it was false.

Always conflicting reports when it comes to rumors. Don't know how many times last year a rumor involving Dwight was shot down, especially when the Lakers were involved. You just never know whats true and whats not until you see the end result.

David Aldridge@daldridgetnt
Source who would definitely know re: reported Rondo/Howard talks: "nothing. Zero. Nada. Niente. Clear?" So, there's that.

DA knows all.

true but david aldridge also shot down berger's rumor. not to mention the idea that not only would the lakers trade big for small, but trade a big who's on the path to recovery for a small just starting that road. seems dubious.

want to talk about a way to waste kobe's final season, this is a good way to do it

Rondo for Howard alone should've tipped all of you off that this report was bogus...

Our season is basically over. This is a trade is for our next season, and a last run at the playoffs for the Celtics.

For what it's worth, it should be noted that Howard used his favorite word while describing the up-and-coming Rockets teamthat could be instant contenders if they signed him this summer.

"I like their team," he said when asked about the Rockets. "They're a great team. They're young. They play hard. They're scrappy. They play together. Everything they do has been great. It's fun to watch them."

Oh, No. Dwight is leaving for the Rockets. :hmm: He is already sweet talking them.

I live about 30 mins from Mike D'antoni's hometown of Mullens, WV and have a source that speaks to him on a regular basis. Source says the actual deal is Rondo and Bass for Gasol as MD and Mitch have already sat down to discuss the deal and how it will impact the season immediately and the future of the team.

Celtics feel they can plug Gasol right in at the end of March and fill Bass' role with Sullinger. It works for the Lakers right now because we ge at mid-range shooting big to fill Gasol's role immediately that won't ever mind coming off the bench. Not to mention we get our future PG to pair with Howard. The FO feels this will be enough to convince Dwight to stay and MD feels Rondo will love running his offense, and has the same intensity Kope admires and will adore. Also, has hinted Nash would be thrilled with the idea of mentoring Rondo during his final two seasons and won't mind coming off the bench.

The Celtics are done with Rondo and his poor relationship with just about everyone in the organization and feel strongly Gasol will fit in with their team. The trade works perfect financially and could be completed as early as late Monday night. I also made this whole thing up. Happy All-Star break rumor fest.

hey
