i'm just sad that he had to witness this terrible season as his last. he deserved better

This may be harsh, but I don't feel bad for him in that particular way. Ultimately, it's the FO's fault for what has transpired with this team.

And, he should have put in better decision makers in his place if he was too ill to oversee the team.

Can we keep this thread for news on his health and well wishes, PLEASE?

Not every damn thread needs to have criticism in it.

Even though im not a Laker fan I have to put that aside for now. This is a sad news to any sports fan. He's one of the greatest owner out there and its sad to hear this news. I wish our government would spend more money trying to cure cancer. No one deserves to die like that.

My prayers goes out to the Buss family.

God bless you Jerry. I wish he got to see the day we pass the celtics in titles. We will someday Jerry (Hopefully in the somewhat near future).

This is absolutely the worst news of the week and possibly month. The life that this guy has lived is beyond much more than basketball. The guy is truly one of the greatest individuals to ever walk the planet. I'm rooting for the guy. If anybody deserves a miracle, it is him.

KEVIN DING@KevinDing

Jerry Buss' last-gasp, heartfelt phone call kept Kobe from leaving Lakers for Clippers in 2004. RT @kobebryant: We all LOVE our Dr B!!#GOAT

I actually didn't know this. I can't even imagine the Lakers without Kobe after 2004, especially since I became a truly devoted Laker fan just that next season. Dr. Buss was a great owner and I'm glad I was around for some of the championships he helped bring to LA.

It can. Just recently killed my aunt and both my grandpa's.

Really sad news. Jerry has been such a great owner for a long time. Really a staple for this great franchise.

He'll be sorely missed. Certaintly gonna be praying for his family.

:( I know it's unprobable, but I hope he somehow makes it through .. Things won't be the same without the greatest owner in sports.

Best wishes Jerry. He's a fighter, let's all hope he beats it. If not he's had a hell of a life and we should all appreciate the good memories he created for us. #biggerthanbasketball

I just wanted to rebut the line of thinking that Jerry isn't liable in this mess.

I wish him well and he's been a great owner for most of his run here.
