"Some people own sports franchises more as a business, a steppingstone to fame. But I own it mainly because I love it. It's a corny line, but they say, "When you bleed, you bleed for blue and gold." I was a Laker fan a long time before I was fortunate enough to own them. I have owned them for 27 years and I truly have loved every moment of it. "

“And when it comes down to a decision about making a couple of dollars or a million dollars or $10 million or putting another banner up, he can’t help himself. He chooses to go for the banner.”

Get well soon, Dr. Buss.

I'm old enough to remember when he bought the team. He is a visionary as far as owners go. As a fan I always liked the fact he owned the team. I always knew if there was a way to win he would put the proper people in place to make it happen.

God speed Dr Buss and Thank You for loving the Lakers as much as I do.

Very sorry to hear, I still hope he recovers but the most important part at this stage is being with your family and hopefully without pain.
Sad day for the Buss and Laker family.

Had the privilege of meeting this amazing man!

Met him at a theatre in Los Angeles I think it was the Arclight. Anyways he had like 3 girls with him and I saw him, then greeted him and held the door open for him. It was during the time when Michael Jacksons movie "This is it" came out, Dr. Buss had his own theatre room!

Stay Strong!!!

I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."

Anybody know what kind of cancer it is?

so far no one is saying that, it looks that hes in terminal phase basing my opinion in the reports.

cancer sucks, we should throw more money into cancer research than into weapons manufacture

The Lakers are going to be so [expletive]ed for a while...

Magic, we need you to put together a buyout and get this team away from Jim Buss. Even Jeanie will not speak to him anymore...

Magic is an awful owner too. Just look at the Dodgers. They're overspending for a bad team. The trade they made for all those over-the-hill Red Sox players was awful.
