[expletive]

and he'll be succeeded by the incompetent son, Jim Buss, the root of all Lakers' struggles

Take away the elite-management, which the Lakers have benefited since it moved to LA, the only thing the Lakers have right now is that they are in a big market city.
Most of teams have none of that, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining

What a selfish post. A man is dying and all you can think about is the Lakers' future?

My condolences to the Buss family. Very sad to know he'll be gone shortly.

Damn.. what a year. If Mr Buss ultimately does pass away, the Lakers should wear an all black uniform in memory.

Dr. Buss IS the Lakers. Similar to what Al Davis was to the Raiders. Everything has an end, this is sad for Laker nation & all of sports.

Very saddening. I'd love if he pulled through and I'll hold on to that hope until the final day :)

Stay strong Dr. Buss!!!

He deserves a statue and a place in the rafters. No question about it.

If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

You should reach more often ;)

I guess everything happens for a reason. Everyone's time will come soon. I find it really cool (bad word choice, but I couldn't think of anything else) that it happens on Valentine's Day. Jerry love for the Lakers is indescribable The way he interacted with the fans, city, and his devotion to this team cannot be compared to no other owner in sports. His love for the Lakers and legacy will always remain.

Jerry Buss is a legend. The greatest owner. 79 years of age and cancer aren't gonna go together so well. Very bad news.

I thought he has been in the hospital for a while now?

Prayers to the Buss family

He has been in and out from the hospital in the past year. Remember his surgery back in 2012? There's a reason why nobody disclosed why he had surgery. His health had been getting worst since the summer and that's the main reason why you did not see him at a Laker game this season or out in public.

A lot of people knew he had cancer, but nobody said anything because Dr. Buss and his family asked to keep it private and away from the media and fans.

I know a few people from LG knew about his condition and did not say anything. The local beat writers knew too.

This season has been a disaster since August. Just bad news after bad news.
