If the Lakers magically got Phil Jackson, would we make the playoffs?

That's a new one.

Thoughts?
no.
We will not win the necessary 20 games needed to hopefully get the 8th spot. Granted, major injuries from the other teams above CAN help us out to get there though.
not sure if that will happen.

Not questioning the resume'. Questioning if his mind was actually there. It's not fair to put it all on the players if we lose, then give the coach the credit when we win. Same goes vice versa.
I don't know what Phil's mind was on during that time, but his team was outhustled against a more hungry Mavs team. I'm not blaming Phil nor the players, the Mavs simply outclassed us.
And it does matter. It's a SWEEP. Not 1 game...nada. Zilch.
Please. We don't need more moral victories.

Teams are pretty much begging phil to coach for them and Phil was on his way here and the Lakers already in a bad situation.. turned him down for a coach that tries to run and gun with a old team and still doesn't coach any defense... I really don't think Dantoni does anything to help this team at this point in time

I don't understand how Jim Buss snubbed Phil Jackson for Dantoni ... that has to be the worst decision in basketball history for any owner or GM

What moral victory? If anything getting swept is just demeaning and embarrassing....
There were no moral victories for us back then. We were the back to back champs with 3 finals appearances in a row.
