I know this is far fetched but I'm tired of the speculation about who the best 1v1 player is. It would be fun and I'm sure it would pull in the ratings and elite players would like to solidify themselves as the best(Kobe). An 8 player bracket would yield the best results as to who is the best. Thoughts?

Would be cool, but the best players wouldn't compete. Instead, in my opinion, you'd have the Ricky Davis "esque" players competing.

I feel like a Ty Lawson type player would kill in this. There's no one who can stay in front of these guys AND defend an automatic jumper. LeBron wouldn't do too well unless he's put up against a player who can defend the post off the dribble. It all depends who is defending these guys. Some of them can be bullied around in a one on one, some can just rain jumpers in and fly by on a cross over.
Earlier in the season, I felt like Chris Paul never missed his jumpers off a cross over.
Weren't Kobe and Kyrie supposed to play one on one for charity in the all star weekend?

I don't think guys would wanna do it. Too much rep at stake, if Lebron won't even do the dunk contest no way is he playing guys one-on-one. Would be really fun to watch though.
The NFL is the one who needs to step up their game. I think the NBA All-Star weekend is great. Skills challenge, 3-point contest, dunk contest, all-star game, the rising stars game, that contest with the three players (one current, one wnba, one former). The Pro Bowl is a joke, they need some kind of Madden-like competition accuracy and arm strength drills for the QBs, have some dudes run a 40 yard dash against each other, punt pass kick, damn I don't know, anything but the Pro Bowl.
And the MLB needs to tone it down a little. Playing for home field advantage in the World Series??? That [expletive] is serious! How about the team with the best record gets it. That's ridiculous.
