Magic is saying the same thing the rest of you are, why are you mad at him? Jim Buss is an idiot - I can only hope an outside ownership group takes the team away from him soon.

If an outside ownership takes control, then what? You think wer become the Spurs? Or do we turn into the Kings?

I mean, some of you aren't getting it.

Lakers added dwight and Nash and Jamison and Meeks to a team that was a Top 3 team in the West, perhaps Top 5 in the league last season.

Nash gets injured, coaching changes, Pau playing with bad knees( cost us at least one game), line-up changes, Dwight's shoulder...None of that is Jim Buss' fault. I'm tired of the stupid infatuation with Jim Buss. ESPN really dopes manipulate those with sheepish brains.

The game @ the Celtics was flat-out embarrassing, he's not saying anything different than everyone on here.

Magic running his mouth. Insecure that Nash is about to pass him on the All time Lakers list very soon. Just 26 away

Losing to the C's really pissed off Magic. As it did with every Laker fan. Including me.

It's not so much that we lost, but the manner in which we did and to whom. Clearly no effort, no pride and although we've done that to some extent other games this season, to do that against our greatest rivals is absolutely unacceptable and a slap in the face.

yo.

I wonder when was the last time I heard something constructive about Lakers from Magic's mouth. Just shut up already. He's the first person to ride the Lakers when we win, and first person to bash when we lose. Just piss off.

We've let down against the Celtics before even in our championship years.

Like I said, the area the Lakers seem to be at is a good area, it's where the thunder and heat started the season, sometimes playing down to close games or needing to mount a comeback but when their team wakes up they win.

Thing is Nash had a good point about people that complain(like Magic)

Nash basically said that people complain about them winning close games, when at the start of the season they were losing them and that people complain about them losing leads, when at the start of the season they didn't couldn't build a lead to lose and were always playing from behind.

And now Magic calls himself embarassed cause at the end of going 7-1 we have a bad game.

Know what, I'd rather have a "bad game" after 7 wins rather than a "good game" after 7 losses which is how we started the season.

we had played an emotional game two days before that took a lot out of us. This team wasn't ready for what the celtics were bringing for them. C's on a roll right now and Lakers beat them in that arena 3 straight years. They just shot the ball crazy, it's NOTHING to do with pepole not bringing ENERGY. Do you think PLAYERS don't care about TNT and national media games.

I mean some of you let emotion cloud just pure NBA knowledge.

Lakers aren't a great team right now, they can easily get beat down by a good team who is hot and with a crzy crowd. Miami lost to NY in the same type of fashion. TWICE

A poor performance is something that'll get you frustrated, but it shouldn't get you "embarrassed" about being a part of your team, whether it be as a player or a fan. Weak to say he's embarrassed to be a former player. Unless the team cheats, or something bad along those lines, you really shouldn't embarrassed to be a former player, or a fan. It's one thing to be embarrassed about a team's performance, but to say you're embarrassed to be a former player because of a bad game? Wouldn't expect anything else from someone like Magic, so it's doesn't really matter.

As a fan, it's okay to be embarrassed. Everything you represent, as a fan, is "in the moment" when you discuss it with others.

"Who's your favorite team, bro?"
"Ugh...the Lakers, dude. We suck this year, I know...it's embarrassing. I try not to wear any Lakers shirts while we're losing like this, just so people will leave me alone about it."

But what if you're a former player, a HOF'er...and the second-greatest player to ever play for that particular franchise? Someone that was given a statue for wearing their jersey and playing at a high level to the tune of five championships?

There is a huge difference. Magic says that he's a former Laker, with his jersey hanging in the sky...and suddenly, nobody gives a damn about what this team is doing today because it's Magic Johnson, and the subject is his career and what his teams accomplished.

So he's embarrassed to be a former Laker? Good, because he was an embarrassing coach, and an even more embarrassing analyst.

You're giving him too much credit. He's more of a personality. You can't be considered an analyst when all you do is rant and don't actually analyze.

Warning! You have just violated Laker Forum Unwritten Rule #2
"Never criticize anyone with the last name Buss. They are omniscient, represent the greatest ownership clan in the history of sports, have done no wrong, will do no wrong, and cannot be compared unfavorably to any other owners in the NBA or any other sport anywhere."

All valid points except for the fact that he hired the wrong coach...Twice. Dr. Jerry Buss might have the final say regarding MDA hiring but Jim Buss was pushing for it more than anyone.

Magic has the right to criticize this team. He's one of the greatest laker player ever and actually contributed something to this team other than cheering. Lol.
