As much as I love my Lakers, I don't think this is thier year. I still have a sliver of hope for them to snag that 8th seed but realisticly speaking, what can we do after this season? Were can we upgrade?

Please don't fill this thread up with "FIRE D'ANTONI CUZ HE SUKS" or Unrealstic trades.

Hopefully we amnesty MWP and get a better SF.

I think it is a little premature for this thread, but for the sake of discussion, I see the following happening:

1.) Pau being traded for a few quality players since his expiring contract will be attractive to teams.
2.) Amnesty MWP
3.) Not re-signing Jamison.
4.) Re-signing Clark.
5.) Re-signing Dwight (I actually still think this is probable.)

For the off-season? Sign Clark and re-sign Dwight.

Those two things come before all else.

I think if we can't trade MWP before the Amnesty period which is most unlikely then we will amnesty him. We can use some of his money on Clark who can be a part of our future. We basically just pay out MWPs contract which is expiring as I assume he picks up his player option. He is not the defensive stopper he once was but is still a decent role player on a team. We have limited resources as money goes so we can shave some salary off the payroll with this move. I've always liked MWP but I can't say I'd be sad to see him go. If we could move both Blake and Duhon I could handle still keeping MWP however the perfect scenario would be somehow trading all of them. I know that's wishful thinking but at least their all expirings next year so they have a little more value. Obviously Pau is the other guy that will most likely be traded. He will be our main trade asset that can fetch us a pick and salary dump or a good piece or pieces. Dwight is the main piece of the puzzle. What he does will dictate what we do.

Exactly. I actually think amnestying MWP would be better than Blake, only because with Nash being 39 years old, who knows what kind of injuries he may face. Plus, Blake is much less of a distraction than MWP. But I am still hoping that we can improve our backup PG spot.

I would say this offseason we need to have a clear focus on a style of play for our bench. I like the idea of having a run and gun bench unit with young talent. Team up Meeks, Hill, and some nice scorers/hustle guys.

Keep Pau Keep Dwight and Hire Phil who knows how to use them. Send Metta and Duhan packing. Send them both to Washington, Detroit or Charlotte for a freaking role player and a second round pick

I really would like us to get rid of Steve Blake. MWP though inconsistent, he's been a great team player and he isn't the reason why the Lakers are slumping. Early in the season he was one of the top contributers that kept the Lakers in the game.

Pringles isn't going anywhere, that would be Jim Buss admitting he made a mistake. He at least will have 2 seasons.

Gasol needs to be traded, heres what im hoping

1. Gasol + Hill + Ebanks or Morris for Love + Williams

2. Gasol + Hill or Clark + Filler for Smith, Korver, Filler

I still think Lakers break into the playoffs.

Let Ebanks and Jamison walk.
Resign Sacre and Clark
Consider amnestying Blake
Draft SF C.J Leslie 6-8 from NC State (if he falls that late in the draft)
Watch D. Morris progression in the offseason and see if he deserves another 1 yr contract
Try to resign D12, assuming he wants to stay.... If not entertain offers or let him walk( and pray he's at least 95% healthy)

Players with team or player options for the 2013/14 season are listed, unless they're still on their rookie contracts. Players whose 2013/14 contracts aren't fully guaranteed are listed and marked with (N), unless they have an earlier non-guaranteed season on their deal -- in that case, they can be found on our list of 2012/13 non-guaranteed contracts. Potential restricted free agents are marked with ®.

Resign clark.
Resign dwight
Dump/trade metta(just too old)
Trade pau
trade hill(just way to injure prone. Guy always is getting hurt)

Top priorities
get a back up pg(blake will not due and he gets injured a lot. Try to get someone young)
Get a PF and SF(After pau is gone and hopfuly metta we need to fill positons, clark cant play 2 spots at once)
Get at least 2 effective bench player(We havent had 1 consistant bench player really this whole season except hill but he got hurt allot)

Really all were looking for is one starter and maybe 3 new bench players. Now we have metta and pau who are both expiring contracts to trade with. I think we can get 3 decent bench players out of them because teams will want expiring contracts.

Now the starter may be hard to find. This is where I really wish hill wasnt injury prone. We could always chance it and just keep the guy which the lakers FO will probably do. If he doesnt get hurt him and dwight will do a good job together. Though if he's hurt we better hope our bench players are good that year.

With what draft pick will we draft CJ Leslie? We would have to make a trade to receive a draft pick. Our only hope is to trade someone like Ebanks or Morris for a draft pick.

Oh, I thought the Lakers had at least one second round draft pick this upcoming draft. My bad if I was wrong. And I don't think any team would take Ebanks or Morris. I'm just saying
