I checked Dwight's number after Real Deal's post. Dwight is averaging close to his career numbers, which surprised me. That's because his career numbers are, quite frankly, somewhat modest given the aura around him (18/13/2). By a similar point in his career Shaq was averaging something like 26/12/2 and Kareem was about 30/14/3.

I have always viewed Dwight as an unpolished offensive player with a game changing approach to defense. It appears that the imjury has affected his defense more than his offense.

Are we prepared to give a max deal to a guy who is no longer dominating on the defensive end (he MIGHT again but there are no guarantys) and scores 18 a game?
