I'm not as optimistic as you are, but I think it's possible.
The coach and roster around him need to change too. It wasn't the right fit from the very beginning, and everybody is paying for it. With his injuries, he might be physically similar to an old player right now too.
it just depends. he's always played in a slower pace, and a slower pace allows him to conserve energy. but the physical stuff is wait and see. look at the difference in bynum from 2010-2011 to 2011-2012. completely different player. why? because instead of rehabbing which is essentially building back up to status quo instead of getting better, he was able to really train and get his body right.
not only did dwight have to rehab but he didn't even get to run until late august early September
people underestimate offseason training but it really is the most important part.

MWP in 30 minutes, 2-13 FGs, 5 points, while allowing Pierce to go for 24 points on 10-17 from the field.
He really has been a drag lately on the team. When he doesn't overshoot and plays his role he isn't bad, but he doesn't play his role far too often. I'll be surprised if he isn't amnestied at the end of this year.

The Lakers have been running their players to the ground the entire season just to stay afloat, and they're now tired. Like I said maybe a few weeks ago, I think things are going to get worse.

Let this be yet another warning to everyone.
Despite the awful situation the Lakers continue to put themselves in that';s no reason for everyone to act like infants, use name calling, ignore the tiny amount of rules you agreed to when you signed up and ignore friendly warnings from any moderator.

the ignorance on this forum is just staggering, absolutely staggering
Kobe has won 5 rings, Pau has won 2 with him, Dwight has won a very weak Eastern Conference and been handily outplayed in the Finals by Pau Gasol, a guy who was out playing hurt for us and went down with a major injury. Howard is a loser, damaged goods, a head case, and a coach killer, he has won nothing, left a franchise in shambles due to his indecision, ship him out now while people think he is still a dominant player.

If World Peace worked out for four more minutes, he would have been 13-13.

Sacre showing Dwight & Pau how to finish at the rim.
They should take notes.
