With Pau & Dwight (probably) out should the Lakers play small ball or sign a veteran free agent?

What of options does our team have now? Can we sign some good athletic fowards on the FA Market? Are there any available?

Or should we just try to set a lineup with Clark and Jamison or Sacre?

What do you think is the best for LA to succeed in this MISERY!!!!?????

I think everything depends on what the MRI says, and how Dwight is doing.

Hopefully, Dwight is back against the Celtics and Pau is back within a week or so. Our schedule these next few games are against teams without dominating post-players, so we could be lucky with a small-ball lineup. Regardless, i think we should sign a guy like K-Mart, who can be our insurance policy. I think Sacre simply is too much of a liability.

Worst case it's 6 weeks, best case it's about 1 week or less.

Kmart my top choice
Shelden Williams in Europe but would be a great big body and gets boards
Chris Andersen unless MIA signs him for the year,
Troy Murphy yuck
Sean Williams aka mr pogo stick amazing jumping ability but needs a attitude adjustment
Tony Battie eh.....
Greg Oden long long shot

Not many good options via FA, but we can always make a trade. We just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow then more and more potential deals or signing can happen.

I think we should stick with the young big men who couldn't get minutes on other teams. Sign someone like Sean Williams, Greg Oden, or Shelden Williams and hope they become our next Jordan Hill/Earl Clark

Dwight should be back relatively soon *knock on wood, so I don't see the point of signing another big who won't play that much. Sacre fills that role fine imo. There are other needs I hope the team addresses come deadline time.

We are playing some teams who don't have good post players, but we're not going to out-small ball the Miami Heat. Our best shot at beating them was Dwight and Pau. Damn this sucks, Jordan Hill, Pau, and Dwight all with injuries.

K-Mart is a good post-defender, which is what we need.

D'Antoni is creaming his pants at the thought of running without his big men. Hopefully Pau's yeast infection isn't too severe...

K-Mart ain't LOVED, but he is better than Sacre.

That's the point. He can defend, he can dunk. He's okay on the boards and he can even hit a mid-range jumper.

If we had K-Mart , it would be great

We can beat Boston and Charlotte without Dwight and Pau. We need Dwight back for the Miami game

Boston is small but Bass and KG are still much tougher inside than the bigs we have now, we aren't going to sign big before tomorrow, but maybe they should call up a D-League big

What about Josh Powell? He did some good things for us, can we get him from Euro League play?
