I do it too but not because of the reasons Kobe does I have a bad habit of chewing on objects and I guess when I'm in a tight game and feeling some anxiety I start to chew on my shirt.

Idk its kinda of weird I never chew gum, it might be because it has flavor and your not supposed to swallow it and I want to or something idk but I prefer to chew on like straws or plastic bottle caps
