How about these ones:

Gasol and Duhon to Boston for Barbosa, Green and Lee.
Howard to Brooklyn, Lopez to Minny, Love to LA.
Jamison, Meeks, Ebanks to ??? for elite shooter (like Kyle Korver) and then amnesty Metta or Blake.

We'd be throwing the season (what's left of it) and would look like this next year:

PG Nash // Barbosa // (Blake)
SG Kobe // Lee
SF Clark // Korver // (Metta)
PF Green // Love / Hill
C Love // Hill

That would be an exciting team - especially with D'Antoni as the coach. We would have a lot of guys who can shoot 3s, attack the basket, rebound and defend multiple positions.
We'd be vulnerable to post-players like Jefferson, but Al better hit his shots cause he aint getting the rebound with Hill and Love in there. Anoter option would be to keep Metta and trade Jamison, Meeks, Ebanks for an athletic big, who can block shots or a post-defender.

A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.

Obviously, getting Dwight to sign a max-deal with Laker would be the best. But, if the choice is between having Love locked up for a long time or taking the risk of Dwight leaving for nothing, perhaps Love wouldn't be the worst. Also, he fits a lot better next to Pau than Dwight.

Why would Dwight go to Dallas?

There is nothing there for him

^No state taxes, so he makes 12% more if the contracts are the same.

He signs on with an aging roster ... ok what is so differnent than the Lakers?

He gets a coach with a more convetional offense (and a ring), a great wing, a decent PG, some defenders, a decent SG.

Most importantly he gets an owner who gets it.

I'm not saying its ideal and I dont think he is leaving but Dallas is not as unappealing as you might think.

1. He will make more money in LA.

Lakers actually have talent and another superstar.

He gets a coach with a more convetional offense (and a ring), a great wing, a decent PG, some defenders, a decent SG.

Coach part is true but Lakers have better players.

Most importantly he gets an owner who gets it.

Mavs...1 titles, Lakers...16 Cuban doesn't understand winning like the Buss.
