And the 45 win estimation was about what I got too when I was looking at the Lakers' chances to make the playoffs.
Key to that is they HAVE to win 35 before they lose 30. Do that and they walk in. If they lose 30 before they win 30, they may have to expend too much energy to get that 8th seed to be able to do anything of significance in the playoffs...
