So why do the Griz do this now seeing that they're not worried about the luxury tax? Sure the 19 mill expiring is great, but couldn't they could get much better for Rudy?

Grizzlies source tells me there are no legs to the Pierce-Rudy-Pau rumor. I was crushed, haha.

Tony is a promising PG that could turn into a beast. They compare him to rondo a lot. He can grab boards, great court vision, he's a creative passer, and can score. What stands out most is Wroten getting 5 rebounds in 18 minutes of play when he played the Clippers. Plus I never seen some one gets his own rebounds back as much as Wroten. Like Rondo, Wroten isn't blessed with the incredible talent of being a jump-shooter, so I know he isn't a shooter so he will have to beat defenders with speed and athleticism until the offseason. Great defender, when you combine the best perimeter defender in the NBA with a 6'5 rookie who can pressure point guards full court, that's has a chance to be one hell of a defensive backcourt. With Wroten under T. Allen's wing, he may quickly turn into one of the better defending point guards in the NBA. One thing that'll be important to look out for is Wroten defending 2-guards when he and Conley share the floor together. His size shows that his combination of height and speed will be able to give opponents fits defensively. Aggression may be Wroten's best trait besides his court vision though sometimes he can be too aggressive though. You can use him in small lineups. His future can be/is bright for Wroten, he can be something that is why I was like draft him when he was in the draft but then we gave the draft pick away. Hell I said go and try to steal him from Griz now since they got all these pg's. If Wroten never gets a knock-down jump shot, he could become a poor-man's Rajon Rondo or a lesser-Tony Allen. Griz got a steal and if they develop him right he can be a beast.

One thing we all are forgetting here: Hollinger. He's now the VP of Basketball relations in Memphis and he ain't helping Lakers. Forget it.

Thx.

$82M/5 years. I forgot he had signed for that much. Superstar money.

I'd like to see him finishing fastbreaks for us as much as the next guy, but we do this trade and we're left with a big man rotation of Clark, Jamison and Sacre. If we can get back another solid big through this deal or another deal i'd feel better about it.

For the record, i'd do this trade though. Even though Pau has looked better playing center off the bench recently, and is actually posting up now and being effective, I just don't trust his consistency. If I knew he would be a guaranteed 15/8 off the bench every night, i'd be hesitant about trading him, but we don't know whether he'll give us 7 pts and 6 rebounds or 17 and 9.

We get rid of a soft, washed-up player who is almost 33 years old and we get a 26-year-old extremely athletic swingman who chan shoot, play defense and attack the rim at will. Are you [expletive]ing kidding me?

Arguably the greatest franchise ever
