ESPN sources say Pistons poised to send both Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye to Grizzlies to acquire Jose Calderon as part of Rudy Gay deal

I don't see why Detroit would want him...they wouldn't be better by giving up Prince and Daye.

You think Raptors flip Gay for Pau after this? Is there any chance?

And thats all folks

Princes contract lasts for another 2 moe seasons at 7 mill. calderon is a 10 mll expering. Its actually a very smart move by detroit. They are gonna have a ton of cap space next season

It doesnt work like that. You cant just trade a player right away and I highly doubt they would go through all this just to trade him later for pau.

Why did the Grizzlies do this trade? I suppose they're a small market and Gay is making too much money but they got Tayshaun Prince and Ed Davis for one of the better SF's in the league?? Stupid trade if you ask me.. don't care how much it hurts their financial situation.

Detroit will only have only 35 mill on the books for next season. They are gonna big players in the FA this offseason.

touché. The Pistons desperately need a superstar. They have like 40 fans in attendance per game.

For some reason they dont even want to be one mill into the luxury tax. I guess they are that much in money trouble. It is a small market but they wont be much of a team now. Prince is ok of a player but he wont do much. I think they would only keep gay if he was playing at extremly high level. To be fair he has had a off year but I doubt that would continue.

The Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons have agreed to a blockbuster trade that involves six players, according to several reports. While the official trade hasn’t been announced, it sounds like the Raptors will acquire Rudy Gay and Hamed Haddadi, the Grizzlies will acquire Ed Davis, Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye, and the Pistons will acquire Jose Calderon.
The Grizzlies and Raptors had discussed a number of scenarios, with the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics also mentioned as potential third teams, but they ultimately decided to do the deal with the Pistons. The Grizzlies wanted to acquire a veteran small forward to replace Gay so Detroit made the most sense. Memphis acquired Prince to help keep the team in contention this season.
Memphis had been exploring trade scenarios involving Gay for quite some time and it seemed that a trade involving the small forward was inevitable either before the deadline on Feb. 21 or before the start of next season. The Raptors have been expressing interest in Gay for several years so it’s no surprise that they were the team to land him.
The deal will be finalized once the three teams complete a trade call with the league office at 7 p.m. ET.

so they traded for prince, daye, and davis.

Prince is an old man Rudy Gay
Austin Daye is a poor mans Tyshaun Prince!

Should've just kept Rudy Gay!! and traded him the off season.

Raptors though are legit
