D’Antoni knows Howard has gotten the second-most low post touches in the NBA after Utah’s Al Jefferson. Meaning it’s not about the system.
And to be clear, D’Antoni WANTS Howard to get that many touches inside, through screen/roll and post ups. Not a critique w/t stat on touches.
It seems the message hit home to Dwight who stayed after practice to work on his post form to limit turnovers

Dwight Howard is staying well after shootaround working on keeping the ball high (has been getting stripped), FT’s & now a baby hook.
Bout time.
If we somehow land Dwight Howard AND Nash (which is one of the biggest reaches I've posted, don't think that will happen), then yeah...I have no problem with it, because Howard won't allow anyone to take Nash off the dribble 30+ minutes a game.

Coming back from injury and not making as quick as moves is probably also a factor in the TOs

Yes it is but it is nice to know the message hit home enough that he started working on keeping the ball high as well as working on some post moves. He actually COULD take lessons from shaq on backdown moves but he's good enough to do them on his own, I've seen them.

Keeping the ball exposed is whats really hurting him. Watching old video of him he does well a keeping it high and moving it away from hands but now he keeps it low. Somthing he's gona have to work on in the offseasonLets double post topics

Unintelligent statement.D’Antoni knows Howard has gotten the second-most low post touches in the NBA after Utah’s Al Jefferson. Meaning it’s not about the system.
The system is the reason why teams aren't having trouble defending Dwight. There is no spacing, and when there's a lack of spacing, it makes it FAR too easy to send multiple defenders to front a post player ALL GAME LONG.
The concern wasn't the touches, it's the decision to NOT make Steve Nash a shooting threat. If he's not a threat, it means teams have one less guy to worry about, and our only shooter on the floor is Ron Artest (and teams would rather run the risk of losing a game because of Artest vs. any other starter).
Add a second shooter to the mix (Nash), and suddenly, both the post entry AND the pick and roll will be more dangerous. Why stress out defending a P&R that will just lead to a pass to a rolling Dwight? Simple to defend. Add the shot factor? Huge issue for teams to play against that.
This is basic basketball. I'm not even asking for a complicated offense. Just do what is logical...do what a team SHOULD do when it contains two superstar players that demand double teams.

+ Pau leading the bench worked really well.Tonight they seemed to play a 2 man game with Kobe and Dwight while Nash played off ball. Worked EXTREMELY well.
Mike D'Antoni is GARBAGE.

His lack of low post moves and the inability of the other guys to move without the ball to areas where they can score is a real problem.
Against Utah Howard touched the ball 19 times....before I stopped counting...this included "touches" that led to scoring, TOs, mishandled, and passes.
So him carring around a piece of paper saying..."look at the stat sheet" really irks me
