Steve Nash cited a lack of commitment by players in the system as one of the reasons for the Los Angeles Lakers’ struggles this season.
"We're not all committing to what they want us to do," Nash said. "We're half stuck in our own, old ways. We have to stop thinking about our pasts and ourselves.”
Nash has searched for ways to turn things around.
"I just go home at night and lie awake trying to figure it out," he said. "I keep asking myself, 'What am I not doing?'"
Asked if the Lakers can reverse course, Nash said: "That's yet to be seen, I guess. I think we have a chance. Maybe not this year. Maybe it's next year. But we have a ton of talent and an organization with great history. If Dwight stays [after this season], we have the pieces. We just have to figure out how to put it all together."

His probably talking about Kobe, which can be true sometimes. Team is much better when Kobe trys to get everyone involved.

Because its a "vision" that has never won anything or done anything of significance.

The coach should know more than the players, not the other way around. Or at the least the coach should be able to manage or contribute to the players and their effort. Alas, that isn't so with the Lakers right now.

Just more backwards crap for this absolutely bizarro NBA universe we're in right now.

He's talking about Dwight. He jabs at Dwight in the article. He and Kobe are pretty much on the same page.

He said this after we lost to Philly and Denver (before we headed on the road w/out Dwight and Gasol). He felt then that this team needed a training camp together, as well as a chance to bring in different pieces before things would click.

Clearly, though, he believes that he, Kobe and Dwight are enough to get things started, apparently just not right now.

Nash speaks to the problem of some guys not wanting to be the 4th wheel sometimes and himself sometimes not taking initiative.

This mixes with what D'antoni saying what he said about all-star game where occasionally people get into their ways and want to do one thing. Everyone on this team has been guilty of one or the other. They'll either complain about how often they are featured in certain scenarios despite being featured a ton as far as a game back(Dwight and Pau or Jamison) backing away from being featured(Nash, Pau, Jamison) or are being featured too much because of the previous two problems(Kobe, Metta).

Nash is very correct.

If he had been here awhile an were an integral part of the franchise this might be more meaningful. For the new guy to show up, get hurt, appear to dog it on the court and then claim others arent seeing the vision is pretty sad.

What vision? Running the team into the ground and making it a perimeter-oriented team? To D'Antoni, the solution is just "run faster and shoot more". It just won't work with the personnel we have. Kobe, Pau, and Dwight have all stressed the importance of playing inside-out basketball, which is fundamentally correct. Nash and D'Antoni have only ever known this fast paced farce. It's a shame that the Lakers decided to build around Steve Nash and D'Antoni's utter failure of a "scheme".
