The Memphis Grizzlies have signed Rio Grande Valley Vipers forward Chris Johnson.
Johnson (6-6, 201, Dayton) has appeared in 21 games for the Vipers this season, averaging 12.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 29.0 minutes. He scored a season-high 29 points in a 127-104 win over the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Jan. 7 at the 2013 NBA D-League Showcase in Reno, Nev. He ranks fourth in the League in three-pointers made (54), and is tied for sixth in steals (38).

It's really kinda sad how much some of these guys just get tossed around like nothing, but even worse the fact that it's really not always fair. This guy was just signed to a 10-day I believe not that long ago with Minnesota as more & more of their guys were going down including Pekovic (at least temporarily), and he was awesome right away. Completely surpassed any expectations that first game against Houston and a tough big in Asik, but yet already, seeing this news, I find it discouraging.
